But we do need to add a #1C this summer. It is the critical path of the Flames roster, especially if the player is young and needs time to develop before they can step into the role.
Wolf changed the timeline on the "rebuild", as did Huberdeau when he started to find his groove again. The Flames have an amazing young goalie, piles of wingers (with some looking very good), middle and bottom Cs, and solid RD depth.
The primary holes in the roster are #1C and #1LD. Wasting time and assets on wingers is just going to compound the problem of having a growing talent pool in the organization that is held back by the critical missing pieces.
