Kuzmenko was on fire when he first got to Calgary playing under Huska's offense stifling system. I believe the more likely explanation is that he is a really hot and cold player - great in Van, then crappy in Van. Great in Calgary, then crappy in Calgary. Maybe it is a complacency issue, and he needs a bit of a fire lit underneath his butt.
I just see him as the bargain-bin version of Kovalev. Kovalev was an absolutely elite offensive force.. when he wanted to be. Practically generational, but teams soured on him. It will be interesting to see if he gets a long-term deal. I think they go short deals with him given his history. I don't think it is Huska's issue. Kadri just scored a career high in goals, and Huberdeau had his 3rd best season in goal scoring too - just two off his best. Weegar getting 20 goals last year - career high that more than doubled his best season. Coleman getting 30 (career high). I am not convinced Huska's system is so stifling.
