That’s exactly why Conroy is going to stay patient. He’s been around Sutter/Feaster/Treliving and seen what the ramifications are sending out picks when the team isn’t ready. He knows we need that elite #1C. We had our hintz and Aho types.
I don't think we've ever even had an Aho type.
Conroy would happily take an Aho type as his number 1 C. Aho isn't the reason that Carolina can't get over the hump.

I'm indifferent to both, and in the case of Hanley would tread carefully given how everything turned up for him last year. Don't be thinking he's an everyday #4 or even a 5. Good 6-7 on most teams
Ideally you move on from Rooney and have a younger player fill that void. But right now the Center position doesn't really have that in the organization. But should be some 27-28 year old minor leagues who had a cup of coffee in the NHL who can fill the gap.

Hague plays on the 3rd pairing in Vegas because they’re have one of the deepest blue-lines in the league. And he’s only available because they’re in win now mode and like to save their cap space to land whales. He’s a big, battle-tested, shut-down 2nd pairing LD. He’s Bahl with more bite in his game. I don’t know if the Flames will wind up with him, but he’s going to get paid wherever he does.

His minutes have shrunk. They wouldn’t upgrade on him if he 2nd pair material.
But we do need still me size. Florida/Vegas/Tampa/Blues/Capitals all had big defenders. Key is finding big who can skate and make the first pass an and still jump in on the rush.
98% certainty Andersson is gone.
90% certainty Vladar is gone
85% certainty both Rooney and Hanley don’t return
30% chance Coleman moves via trade
30% chance Pospisil is moved via trade
0% chance Wolf is moved
I’d put RFA offer sheet at about <35%
Big name UFA at <10% chance
100% chance Calgary wants additional 1st round picks in next 3 draft
50% chance they trade up/down at this point - volatile after 3rd pick
98% chance we see Huska extended before season starts
90% chance we see Parekh up with the big club for the whole season
90% chance Klapka with the big club full time
Small sample size of course but this is what I’ve heard.
Any word on trading Kadri? I think he could be worth a decent amount. And he is an aging asset, his value will only go down from here.
I think lindy and Monahan fall closer in the Trochek, Horvat, kadri, JEE caliber players. Really good centers but if it's your number one, you better have a superstar winger. Bottom half of league #1, but too half of league #2.
Aho to me is a top 10 center in the league, albeit on the cusp.
Bahl is bigger, we are fine. We don’t need to collect 5/6 dmen.
Geez. Not sure how you say that knowing how important big blueliners are on the teams that make it to the end. Agree we don't want a bunch of 5/6. Is that what he amounts to? I think he could be more as others have stated.

Mutual, players want more opportunity and Calgary prefers to give promotions from within.
Hanley played himself into another contract, but likely more than Calgary wants to give this time around. Lots of depth on farm to play 7th D.

No appetite on either side.
Kadri wants to win here, he’s committed to bringing this team a cup.
Craig values Kadri’s leadership and openness, full trust in the guy who’s probably the 2nd most valued vet after Backlund. I personally feel like next captain could be Kadri or Weegar at this point.

That is very disappointing. Kadri will be 35 when the next season starts. This team won't be a contender for minimum 4 or 5 years.
He isn't going to he helping us win a cup in his 40s.
