I agree with this, but I think they will fire Schneider first. It is 100% not his fault. The team will probably get a dead cat bounce when/if they fire the manager, but I can't see it making that big of a difference.
The geniuses in the GM room tried to build a 1980's team in the 2020's and it's not working. Yes, teams run more, yes defense is important, but SLUGGING is the key to winning these days. The ability to break a game open, be threatening to opposing arms is the one thing that a team needs more than anything else.
Vladdy has always been streaky in terms of power, so I know he'll go off.
Santander has been notoriously bad in March and April his whole career. he will rebound.
Springer has had a good start, but that can't be expected to continue.
Bo has been listening to Buck Martinez and is trying to become a slap hitter (with completely diminished power and unexpectedly speed and base stealing ability). I think everyone is so focus on Vladdy's weight, Bo is OUT OF SHAPE.
Varsho will run into one every now and again between flailing at pitches in the zone for a week.
Then we have a bunch of no power, supposed contact guys and guys like Barger who may as well close his eyes when he swings and just hopes to launch one...but is bad at it.
