I answered the questions pretty quickly so it may have changed things if I took it a bit slower but the graph at the end was almost a perfect bullseye in the middle. Which is pretty close to how I feel.
I did answer a few questions that were bang on with the CPC, but in any tiebreaker between the Libs and CPC for me is that PP is just so horribly unlikeable.
While TVA's debate is a secondary debate and not the official French debate, it has been seen as very important and often touted as the best debate to ask real hard hitting questions and real true discussion among candidate, and is seen as the most important debate in Quebec. The TVA debate in 2021 was a fantastic debate.
I think Carney bailing on the debate is a huge mistake considering the question marks about his French, and it appears the Liberal see him not participating as the better political gamble than having him participate in a no holds barred debated in French. The election is not won yet, and the momentum the Liberals have built can certainly crash fast if Carney's weaknesses get exposed or amplified. The official French debate format will be a bit easier for Carney, but the dodging of the TVA debate will be in the minds of Quebecers.
With the Liberals currently polling at 36% in Quebec with 39 seats, this is very much an own goal that may haunt them.
If Carney just keeps banging on the “we need to fix the economy” drum he is going to steam roll.
Any questions about regulations or tax overburden just side step those ones and he’s got it in the bag. Especially considering the competition here.

When news reporters interview the people in the street - I am surprised how few list sovereignty and tariffs as the main concern. The common answer is “cost of living “ which I believe is going to be affected by the tariffs.
I'm quite literally in the middle in between the LPC and CPC, but I already knew that. Yet some posters here always try to pass me as a raging deep conservative in the past simply because I hated the Trudeau-Singh coalition government.
And people here think I'm some kind of leftist zealot when I small smack dab in the Liberals and NDP (and even share some views with the CPC). Who gives a ####?

I was over 50% for both the Liberals and conservatives. 59-41 Liberals and 53-47 in agreeing with the Conservatives.
Sort of tells me that if they were forced to work together in a minority government rather than draw their partisan lines...they might actually be quite effective.
That said you go look at that poll on the Conservative website and it doesn't pass the smell test of them being a somewhat moderate party.

Jagmeet's GST cut is actually more wealthy-favouring than the income tax cut, because the wealthy have more expensive cell phone plans, heating bills, etc.
I think a lot of those costs scale slower than income.

As an individual you can borrow ideas and policies from both sides of the spectrum. And you deem the whole thing a circus and say you're less than satisfied with all the options presented, even though it's better to vote at the end of the day than not to.
Being a centrist in principle may not be free of bias, but it's certainly less biased than people who ride or die with one party just due to their personal history of association with them and the identity they've built around it, regardless of who's at the top and the level of competence they're displaying.
Changing times and outlooks can and should call for deviations. If that's out of the realm of question, then you're probably too firmly entrenched in the party you support, irrespective of which one it is.

All I know is that PP is looking more like a clown by the day and Carney (ironically) is displaying the most competence I've seen from a liberal leader in quite some time, even if the sample is small. He appears cognizant of the situation we're facing and isn't lost in regurgitating rhetoric that's of secondary importance in the current situation. Is what's outlined in his books alarming to me? Maybe a little as an Albertan. But he also appears willing to be flexible in his own ideals for trying times that will require extraordinary efforts to keep our country's economy afloat. If he's willing to budge to the right on the economic front while remaining left of center on social policy then IMO he's a safer pick all day long over the MAGA stench emanating from the other guys.

If you dare, CBC has their vote compass up. I envision that if I went to the Epoch Times version... no matter what I picked for answers it would say I should vote for the CPC.
I'm a boring arsed Centrist myself, pretty close to the dead center economically and socially when you do the 3D view. So these days that puts me closer to the Liberals than this version of the Conservatives.
That was amusing.
Once you finish the questionnaire, there's a second step to actually weight the importance of those questions.
Overall I'm not surprised. I will say that as someone who works in O&G adjacent industry I do think it's important we build pipelines, refineries, barges to get our resources across the ocean, and I do think that as disagreeable as Stephen Harper was, he had one thing right - governments should only run a deficit in times of economic crisis (i.e. 2008 or 2020).
Ultimately I would love to vote "off the board" if there were a viable candidate/chance to win my riding, but strategically it's probably most important to me to keep PP out of office. I'm not truly sold on the liberals because they've made some questionable decisions (their handling of the housing crisis, the random appeasement sales tax cuts, their desire to raise capital gains tax despite the economic risk) but I could genuinely see Mark Carney being our best PM since Chretien, and maybe of my lifetime, and with how much these political parties are just a reflection of their leadership (because everyone votes on issues as their leadership directs them to) I am comfortable with the liberals. Ideally it's a liberal majority because I believe appeasing the NDP led to some budget mismanagement.
I like NDP policies and in the days of Jack Layton I think I voted for them at least once. I don't want to throw Jagmeet Singh under the bus, I think he's done an okay job, but the NDP probably need a new voice as he's just too combative to give them legitimacy.

IIRC, there were a few rats that jumped off the sinking ship that are running again now that their prospects of continuing their fancy high paying jobs instead of sure defeat is on the table again.
