Sharangovich and Mews is almost enough for Cozens.
So you think Dahlin is worth 4 firsts?

I read that the Islanders might be shopping Dobson...
He's only 25.
Maybe it's a bit too far ahead of us, and the price would be expensive, but he's a heck of a player.

The purpose is to get extra assets, or to get better assets. Mittelstadt should be viewed as having negative value: He hasn't lived up to the hype, he has a big chunk of the Avs cap space, and he is an anchor on their cup contending window. Also, the coach has lost faith in him as a #2C and he is/was in the doghouse (third line).
There are some people who are trying to overvalue Mittelstadt and suggest that we need to give assets to get him. But the situation is more that the Avs need to pay someone to get him off their cap space so they can get a better player in that position.

What a strange decision by Lou.
Unless Dobson has said he has no interest in re-signing there long term I guess?

Selected with the Flames 1st rounder sent to the Islanders for Hamonic.
Wizardry.

Yeah, it seems the Isles may trade Dobson and re-sign Nelson.

They added a bunch of dmen, Dobson got hurt, and now they went on a win streak without him and it's convinced them he's expendable.
If he's available that would be a great move...but I don't think Flames would be high bidder on a 25 year old RH shot dman that is 6'4"
Some team would overpay for that and I don't think it's the Flames.

I'd pay the Dougie price for him, but if could see another team coming in higher.

He's more proven than Dougie was - he had a 70 point season last year.
He also has 5 years at $6.15M left on his deal - which under the current economics for a d-man and with a rising salary cap is an absolute steal from a cap perspective.
If Islanders are shopping him they probably return an absolute haul.

There were some rumours earlier in the year that they may trade Dobson; that they fell last year was a bit of an outlier, and I thought I read somewhere he was struggling a bit before he got injured this season.

I’ve watched him a fair bit as I have had him on my fantasy team the last couple of years. He was unreal last season but this year it seemed like their whole team was off but Dobson has been a tire fire in his own end at many times this season. He’s had many soft plays and is not very physical. He had 70 pts last year and it seemed like everything he was touching was ending up in pts. This year he’s had a big regression but he was playing better just before the injury. If he gets back to playing how he was last year he is probably elite on offence but it may not be worth the risk. I am not sure his game is suited for playoff hockey.
