So a huge amount of "hope-ium" here but regarding the 5090 release:

- All reports about low supply have been about AIB partner supplied cards
- The stores that have no idea what they're getting and when are the stores that only sell AIB cards (i.e. Memory Express, Canada Computers, etc.)

Could we potentially have a decent supply of FE cards? Maybe? Granted, Best Buy has no idea what's going on and it's a few days out from release. But seeing that so many YouTube folks, some that have only 10-15K subscribers, received a review model, makes me think that maybe they have enough supply to go around? Maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised on Thursday morning?

7xxx chips benefit from high volume cooling; they quite literally scale with your cooler.

I would trust Arctic coolers with my life.

Wouldn't the 7900x be a better choice for CPU if he's not gaming?
7900x would be good too. Didn't realize it was on sale for $550 rn!

My Arctic Cooler 2 pump actually died on me. I replaced it with an Arctic Cooler 3. Even though I had a bad part two years after purchase, I was still happy with the product overall. They are great, and very reasonably priced.

5080 reviews are a bit disappointing.. doesn't even beat the 4090 (compared to the 4080 which beat the 3090 Ti).

I guess the days of a new video card generation bringing the top end of the previous generation to the masses is gone.

Yeah, looking at over $4k for a 5090 with 4 years of replacement coverage is a bit much for what is behind reported.

Looks like I'll wait a couple generations to upgrade my 4090.

Can't you already play everything on max @4k with a 4090? Why upgrade?

4K60, even 4K120 for older games. But if you want the highest frame rates with the recent 4K240 OLED monitors or use the fancy ray-tracing enhancements, you still need more power.

I get framedips in Blue Lane in Deadlock on 3440x1440 @ 120hz

4090 has it's limits if you max everything out but still want to play competitive FPS :V

No you can't . Not if you want eye candy without dlss. It can play 4k in some older games or portovers from ps5 but the 4090 isn't what I call a true 4k card. Hell I don't think a true 4k card will happen until the 7090 card.

For someone like me who only play AAA games and the occasional AA game yhe 4090 is easy to load up even if I turn settings down to high rt or even meduim rt in most games. The 4090 on average was 50% better than the 3090 I had at the same price . It's disappointing as I'd have no problem if that was the case to shell out that kind of money again. I would of even considered a 4080 if it was better than a 4090 like the 4000 series over the 3000 series. The 4000 series was on a new node so that's why we see uplifts.

I started the 4000 series with a 4070ti that was performing like the 3090 I sold . But they got stock at best buy 3 days later so I got the 4090 aswell.

I think I got extremely lucky in the silicone lottery tho. I can oc to 3150 on the core and a whopping 950mhz on the memory and still get 45 to 55 on water cooling but I'm running push/pull on 2 360mm 52mm thick rads. Even with all this the 4090 is not a true 4k card but does dabble that line into 4k curious.

Pauls' hardware has a nice round up of the 5090/5080 releases .

I watched everyone of the sources he cites before his take and agree. NVIDIA has to push ai models to maintain stock share since that's what's making it soar. just one competitor came out and dropped the stock .

amd has a opening now . push hardware past silicone to new martials . We are now at hardware limitations . new materials are needed .

I thought AMD threw in the towel and isn't even competing at the upper end now? Feels like they are behind quite a bit.

Sounds like 5090 stock (especially in Canada) is gonna be rare/zeroish. ASUS doesn't care about our useless dollar lol.

Q. What about Canada Day 1 sales?
A. We do know more about CA stock in terms of what we expect to be in store on Day 1 and what is on its way. Short answer is that Canadians may need to wait a little for our GeForce RTX 5090 cards, but there will be some GeForce RTX 5080 cards available Day 1:

Gratz. I'm stuck in loading hell so I don't think I'm getting Day 1 for a card release for the first time in like 4 cycles
