Zero chance McDavid should be even mentioned in the same breath as Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr or even Crosby. He is a tier below that level at best. Crosby would have scored 200 pts a year playing selfish like McDavid does, instead he decided to actually win something. McDavid isn’t just not “elite” in his defensive game, he is a complete liability to his team on that front.
