Americans want stupid and crazy, and Harris should deliver that in her speech.
She should call out the white women who voted for Trump and the Latinos. Let them know they are ####ed and drop the mic. What does she have to lose her political career is over.

Also, someone earlier said they were excited for RFK Jr. to clean up the FDA as having significant control over US health agencies. I just wanted to point you to a story that involves RFK Jr. and the last time he got involved in "public health":
Quote:
In 2019, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a prominent anti-vaccine activist, visited Samoa and met with Taylor Winterstein, an Australian-Samoan anti-vaccine campaigner. His visit and anti-vaccine messaging fueled concerns over vaccine safety, particularly after two infants had died in 2018 due to improperly administered vaccines. Although these deaths were later attributed to human error by nurses who used the wrong substance to mix the vaccines, misinformation spread quickly, and fears persisted.
These fears, compounded by anti-vaccine rhetoric and false claims, contributed to a dramatic decline in vaccination rates in Samoa, dropping to as low as 31%. This decline set the stage for a severe measles outbreak, leading to over 80 deaths, primarily affecting young children, and prompting the government to declare a state of emergency. The outbreak highlighted the deadly consequences of vaccine hesitancy and the spread of misinformation.

That's exactly it. An unattested win is good for the market at least in the short term, no matter who wins. It has nothing to do with Trump specifically.

Yes, historically the markets perform well during a US election cycle, it has zero to do with Trump.

It’s pragmatism.

That's very eloquent but it doesn't change my opinion.

17M fewer people voted, 15M fewer voted Democrat.
In the end and I think it's similar to 2016, the Democrats just did a poor job of getting people out to vote.

Yup. A very winnable election with a better candidate and a better campaign.

Which should have started when Trump beat Hillary, but for some reason this wasn't obvious to the DNC and here we are.

This. This is what it's all about now, and it's a big reason why we are in the shape we're in.
It isn't about what's best for the USA, or Canada, or Alberta. It's about making sure you bask in the suffering and sorrows of your enemies. Enemies that don't even exist, but a charismatic group of charlatans have managed to convince you do.
The person to your left or right can't be considered to be your brother or sister, your fellow countryman, or even a human being. They are evaluated by team and tribe, and all that matters is to ensure they lose and hurt. Inflicting harm is the new political currency.
Having these thoughts or expressions should be an opportunity to stop and really analyze your motivations and what you're saying. It's the absence of empathy and critical thought, and it's killing us. It's gross.
I'm certainly not surprised that it's the way it is because it's clearly an effective weapon, but damn if it isn't just so disheartening to witness.
I believe I referenced this quote after that post-election SNL in 2020, but it still fits here:
Quote:
I would implore everybody who’s celebrating a day to remember, it’s good to be a humble winner. Remember when I was here four years ago? Remember how bad that felt? Remember that half the country right now still feels that way. Please remember that.
Remember that for the first time in the history of America, the life expectancy of white people is dropping. Because of heroin, because of suicide. All these white people out there that feel that anguish, that pain, they are mad because they think nobody cares, and maybe they don’t. Let me tell you something. I know how that feels. I promise you, I know how that feels.
If you’re a police officer, and every time you put your uniform on, you feel like you’ve got a target on your back, you’re appalled by the ingratitude that people have when you would risk your life to save them — Oh, man, believe me, believe me, I know how that feels. Everyone knows how that feels.
But here’s the difference between me and you. You guys hate each other for that. And I don’t hate anybody. I just hate that feeling. That’s what I fight through. That’s what I suggest you fight through. You got to find a way to live your life. You got to find a way to forgive each other. You got to find a way to find joy in your existence in spite of that feeling.

Let me elaborate.
Obama picks Biden.
Biden becomes the defacto next nominee.
Biden is an old white man, therefore needs a diversity pick running mate.
Diversity pick becomes the defacto next nominee, is doomed to lose because America is sexist and racist.

America had a popular black president. Some countries only elect white men as their leaders.

He stepped aside for Hilary Clinton in 2016 and probably would have never run for president if things had gone as expected and Clinton won the presidency.
Even for 2020, Biden seemed more of a last-minute option when none of the early candidates (even Bernie Sanders) got widespread support.
