His team pulled him early as well. For good reason. An absolute train wreck.
Kamala was Indian but now she’s black? Just bonkers stuff.

That may have been his absolute worst appearance, interview whatever I have seen and that is saying something after the stuff he has done.
They should have pulled him right after his opening remarks.

Still doesn't matter, Trump could call Kamala the N-word on live TV and the election would still be a close one. He is immune from any political blowback

At this stage of the game if you support Trump and the GOP I am just going to with the fact that your are, deep down just a racist like them. There is no other explanation as to why anyone would support this.
Never mind a woman supporting him. It is nuts. Pure lunacy at this point.

Expectation: It would be trainwreck
Result: It was a trainwreck
Short/Long Term Ramifications: None
I do think though the chances he calls a black woman the N word during this campaign might be even money. He hates women, he hates minorities, he hates anything but subservience. Seems like it's bound to happen.

Yeah I'm not talking about 538's aggregation. He's not a pollster, he's an analyst that is often shooting his mouth off scattergun-style on Twitter and is frequently wrong but always posturing himself as the smartest guy in the room.
You can celebrate the handful of times he's swung for the fences and got it right, but you can't ignore the far larger mountain of bull#### he spews that is so absolutely wrong it's comical.
Statistically, he's better than a broken clock but not by a huge margin.

Lol. That interview is absolutely nuts. Absolutely nuts. When I first started it I thought it would be a softball interview but wholly molly did they come out with a hard hitting question. And his response? "You didn't say hello to me!"

If he helps them win PA then he is the correct pick. Full stop. They need PA. If she picks Walz and he helps her win Minnesota and Wisconsin but they lose PA it's meaningless.
The only reason to pick Walz is if you think he'll be such a hit with the electorate at large that he'll get you PA AND help you elsewhere. Kelly is a different story.
FWIW I like Kelly and Walz better as candidates but if you can lock up PA with a VP pick you absolutely do it.

I mean is it a lock up? He got a 54% favorability rating back in early April, but that was before he compared student protestors to the KKK, and didn't fully reflect his unpopular School Voucher program, announced in mid-Feb.
It does price-in the sexual harassment pay-off though.

Living down here (moved from Calgary in 93), we've gone from existential dread to a lot of hope and enthusiasm that I haven't seen since '08 (I was a republican then and voted for McCain).
We have NEVER donated to a campaign but we donated $500 to the Harris campaign this time around along with signing up to volunteer.
Hopefully we can get rid of this giant orange turd once and for all.
Sorry about all the crazy people living down here in your basement Canada....

This makes him more appealing to possible Trump defectors to be fair.

As the Harris team is scheduling the first joint appearance of Harris with her VP pick in Philly (Pennsylvania) I tend to think it's going to be Shapiro just for the wow factor of having their own governor walk on stage as the VP pick

I didn't realize that Harris lived in Canada for a while as a child. Not a long time, I thought it was interesting.

in a normal world, a fraction of this kills the career of any politician. But with Trump, it's just number 257 on his list of despicable moments.
What a pathetic loser. Just nauseating when you think about the fact that millions of people will happily vote again for this loser in November.

The Dems should celebrate every time Trump goes face-to-face with a real journalist. He keeps digging that hole deeper.

I think Shapiro would lock up PA, but actually reduce the chances of winning Michigan and Wisconsin due to the Gaza situation.
Listening to Walz speak, he has that comforting everything-is-going-to-be-okay vibe to him. I think he's the best choice. I also think he helps keep the male senior vote that Biden was doing so well with.
Just my 2c.

I don't know. I assume they have strategists whose job it is to figure that out. I'm just saying based on your post, if you are right that he helps them win PA - ie that actually happens - he's a win even if he does nothing else. And i don't think he'd do nothing else; he's a good attack dog.

You guys are way more even keeled than my train of thought: we’re gonna bank on a ticket with a woman of colour and a Jew winning over the Midwest are we? We have higher opinions of people in those regions than I do.
There are many think tanks smarter than me but I think you can win PA with any of the three but need a cracker ass Christian for the Midwest. Walz seems good but if he’s the consensus online pick he’s probably a bit too hokey. The astronaut probably plays well anywhere and Shapiro isn’t bad by any means but America is still America and that’s a hell of a gamble for a ticket IMO
