Well lets hope he gets the complete vindication.
I will fly to Florida and put the ring on his finger if he can get the job done lol.

We kind of have to now, as a Flames fan, the oilers winning the cup is unacceptable.

Absolutely.
I mean as a Flames fan, we have been kicked in the nuts all season long.
Finally have assets to trade, no one wants to pony up picks like they used to.
Cheering for the Vancouver Canucks FFS. Latch on to choir boy Jamie Benn who had no problem spearing and injuring our players a few years ago.
Now the Oilers are in the finals, and a guy who broke our hearts is on the other side, along with our highest pick ever who is a key cog on their team.
What a ride. Hockey is supposed to be fun, sports is supposed to be fun. This is not fun. This sucks.

Tkachuk looking out for his best interests (competing) after Gaudreau ducked out to be a recluse in Ohio is probably nothing personal against the Flames. The Tkachuks are a proud bunch. I don't blame him, but he also gave them a fair shake and they didn't take it which is on them. Also he's made it clear that he sees his chapter in Calgary positively.
There really isn't much reason to have conflicting feelings about Tkachuk (or Bennett) going all the way.

The Panthers were relentless against the Rangers. Keep doing what you're doing and you win. Easy.
Go Pantr!

I think Panthers will win they just seem to be playing flawlessly against every team. Everything goes there way, and just a deep team.
I guess we said that about Dallas too, but Florida has dominated every team they play. 1st in defense and Bob is playing excellent and they throw lots of shots on net too. They seem to be the best 5v5 team.
Skinner will need to play in top form for the Oilers win this series. This is a series where they cant just rely on 4 guys and their PP to win.

I was never impressed with Dallas. It took them 7 to beat Vegas, and Colorado was rolling until an off ice incident shell shocked their team, and it still took game 6 ot for Dallas to win.
Nill was not pleased with his teams defensive play this season either. They also had Duchene play a key role on their team and he has 2 goals all playoffs.
Colorado, Florida, Carolina looked like the best teams in the playoffs.

The Panthers are objectively the better team and were my Cup pick before the playoffs began, but the Oilers are on a roll. I’m worried they could actually win it. I mean if you win a playoff game where you record 10 shots on net, literally anything can happen.

Do we really know this? we keep hearing it stated as a fact
Doesn't really matter now though, Oilers bragging about cups last a lifetime...heck 20 year old Oiler fans brag about cups that were won decades before they were born. Long term a former Flame winning the cup after leaving isn't gonna sting like that. Look at the Panthers roster, there are former a lot of teams.
Canucks draft pick is their top dman
Sabres pick is their top goal scorer
Former Flyer their top goalie

Dallas' offense was in shambles.
10 shot wins don't happen against a team that's rolling, save for a Shesterkin performance and I'm not sure Skinner has that in him.

Pretty sure the captaincy condition rumor came from sources considered insiders, but I'd love it if someone would confirm where it originated because it's fuzzy for me now.

I know we have people with sources here too that could speak on what they'd heard.

They beat LA with 11 shots. Vancouver won a game with 12 shots, and I believe they closed out Nashville with a 15 shot masterpiece.
The west was a joke outside of Colorado.

At the risk of that guy calling me out for jinxing it like I have some effect on the outcome of games this seems like Montreal making the finals to play Tampa...only this time with an average at best goaltender.
I just put a large bet on the Panthers, odds are ridiculously good for a team that should be a massive favourite.

As is anything you hear from any one other than the player or GM. This is what we have to go off of as fans..
We'll probably never get that full story, at least not until a post-retirement podcast or something.
Tkachuk never wanting to commit to the Flames right from the bridge deal is just as much speculation, but it's what some seem to take as "truth".
So in the end, it's a battle of hearsay and sources.
Seeing as Tkachuk has never appeared bitter about the Flames or his time here, I'm willing to bet he negotiated steeply but in good faith, and his linemate taking off is what fueled the intention to exit. I don't think a long term solution was never on the table.

If the oil dumb it down and slow it down to just a grind....they win. Not even close.
If they open it up and try playing river hockey I'd say they get spanked pretty hard here.
Whichever team sticks to they're style the best or can make on the spot adjustments look easy....they'll be hoisting cups.
I think it'll be a better series than we expect.
Edmonton however ....is NOT Canada's team. Gluegun isn't as schmirmy as Woodcroft but I still don't want him giving some speech that he was bound to succeed and finish by being able to say this to us.
I'd love to see Matt, Ryan and Sam win ....Maurice is a damn good coach as well.
Go cats
