Cities and towns themselves are a blight on the landscape too....

Renewables will have new reclamation bonds...meanwhile oil and gas owes 251 million in unpaid taxes to rural municipalities plus whatever the current abandoned well clean up figure is.

I wish they were abandoned because that is the recognized term for properly put to bed wells.

Orphaned. Abandoned is a goofy/confusing term they chose for that long ago for some reason.

Geezus, can this conservative clown party go one week without doing something hypocritical, appalling or embarrassing. The fact that we have Marlaina in charge for three more years while she’s being puppeteered by that delusional, 1920’s-glamourizing man-baby David Parker, is ####ing insufferable.

PACs and party identification at the municipal level just serves to galvanize cities and towns as conservatives. It's seen as a feeder system for provincial power. A responsible government would outlaw them as undemocratic.

35km buffers on 'pristine viewscapes' a term that they said that there is no agreed definition.

Landowners have now lost the ability to host wind projects if they choose to do so in the name of protecting agriculture heritage.

Requirement for proponents to post a 'reclamation bond' in some unknown amount in some unknown account.

We can still cut down all the trees in a protected area though, that's cool. Pristine viewscapes don't count when they can grow back in 50 years I guess.

So, the parts of the map that are not protected are the parts of the province that the UCP says are ugly as all hell and hold no value whatsoever. I hope that the people living in the unprotected areas remember what the UCP think of them.
