Do you see much changing with him playing with Coleman and Backlund ?

I don’t see anything different coming in the next 10 games unless trades or line shakeups happen and it seems like the lines are clicking somewhat.

Maybe being home for the holidays helps?

Have to look really hard, but squint and you might see him during the game.

Are Huberdeau and Kadri's contracts the worst one in the league? I honestly don't know what junk is out there but for the length and cost these have to be up there. Are they untradeable? How much money would the Flames have to suck for them to just go away for a mediocre return?

Kadri is fine, he is a great player rn and will be for the next couple years, he is worth 7 million, he is also a proven playoff performer and boosts his game when there is something on the line. He was signed with an intention to boost the team to compete now, nobody cared about the back end of his contract. Kadri is def tradable if he wanted to leave

Sometimes it's really hard to tell if you are a Flames fan or not, given how much you root for former Flames and advocate for ex-coaches, while at the same time seemingly taking pleasure in current Flames failing.

Love me some Sam Bennett always.

Love seeing Gaudreau struggle (only on the .01% chance it leads to a Huberdeau swap).

Looooving Tkachuk's awful start and wish him and Florida (Bennett aside) bad luck.

I've always been an advocate for Darryl. Before he was hired, when he was hired, the entire time he was coach, and now that he's ex-coach. Sorry my consistent opinion of the guy thoughtout the years is too much?

Now, we're stuck with the absolute worst anchor of a contract in NHL history for the next 8 years.

Sorry for my opinions.

But, I love that the Flames are trending towards a top 5 pick. I absolutely trust that Conroy and Co is gonna do the right thing and trade absolutely everyone and anyone they can and build through the draft with our incredible amateur scouting staff, and I also am very excited about retooling with Pelletier/Zary/Pospisil/Coronato/etc.. as the veteran prospects leading the new charge.

I have plenty of optimism and hope for this team thank you very much.

And honestly, Jiri, I've had more than enough interactions over my time on here and the CPHL that I'm a little hurt but I forgive you and still like you (and love the Flames despite you saying otherwise <3)

Kadri is arguably our best forward - he's certainly in the conversation, anyway. At $7M, he isn't even close to being a terrible contract.

Are you even watching the flames? How are you lumping in Kadri with Huberdeau right now?

Huberdeau yes, and only a couple of contracts are close. Seth Jones comes to mind.

Kadri is worth $7 million per season based on his production and what similar UFA players signed for. Who knows how he will age, but right now he is bringing value and with only 5 years left compared to Huberdeau's 7 years...

Would trade Johnny for Huby faster than a New York minute.

Kadri's contract isn't even bad now, it could get there. You could easily move Kadri.

He is also a proven playoff player

Not sure how it matters where Huberdeau’s contract “ranks” as far as bad contracts in the NHL are concerned.

I don’t know how moveable Kadri is for any kind of return. Any team getting him is signing up for the worst years of his contract. And it would be awful to use up a retention slot for 6 years in a trade.

He’s playing really well now. But he has played 114 games with the Flames and has been really bad in many of them.

If there is a trade market, where were all these suitors last summer?

Hate to say, but swap him for Seth jones in a second. He’s on pace for 40pts for 10.5 million

Jones has a $9.5M cap hit, and has 1 year less than Huberdeau.

He plays 25 minutes a night against the other teams best players, on the leagues worse team, and is still only -5.

He’s the opposite of sheltered.

He is obviously overpaid, but if he was a 3-4 dman getting a team’s lesser forwards, he’d likely play at an acceptable standard.

Not sure why Kadri is part of any contract discussion, he’s playing to his contract easily.

He is best by default cause everyone else sucks or lack of talent or not quite ready

He is also 33 with 6 yrs left at 7M. That’s a terrible contract. Unmovable. Again thanks wizard.
