Why should we care what they say? I'll tell you, it creates conversation. Sure it's all blow hard BS but it adds something better than the same old dour "I'm smarter than you" peepee swinging by that usually populates message boards.

It's not a bad thing if he wants out anyways. The team isn't built to win, our stars need to be home grown.

We are going to have to get it done through the draft like with the last core.

The team is built like the Sutter years with dipping into free agency, trades and no homegrown stars trying to push into that 8th spot.

A few tidbits I heard from someone I know within the Flames org.

Detroit, LA, Dallas, Colorado have called about all 3 UFA's. Detroit has a lot of pressure to make the playoffs this year, LA and Dallas feel like they have a real shot to win the cup. Calgary would rather trade each player separately to maximize value. A team would have to blow their socks off to get 2 of the players in one trade.

Lindholm has a lot of suitors. Teams like that he can play C or RW. And he can win draws and jump onto any teams PK. I feel like this will go right down to the TDL unless a team coughs up exactly what the Flames want for him in the next few months.

The NYR are a sneaky team calling about D. I can see them snagging Hanifin (my gut feeling).

Tanev's stock keeps rising. He can play top 4, plus be the first over the boards on the PK. He's a warrior and the exact type of player teams want going into the playoffs.

Toronto wants players but won't pay the price for them. Keep kicking those tires Tre.

Toronto has no assets outside of Minten/Knies and are not willing to spend anything of substance in order to acquire help.

Keep on keeping on Brad, you're going to have to give us a Hamonic offer to get one of our D

Detroit would be sweet because I think they’ll end up missing the playoffs and have good prospects outside of their top 5. Their 1st and 6-10 prospect from their pool would be a great return for Lindholm or Hanifin.
Hanifin for Laf/Kakko? Lol

I wonder if Rangers are willing to give up on Kaapo Kakko. Sam Bennett 2.0. Or is he more of a true busy?

Gross.

Picks. picks, picks, picks, picks and more picks.

Not former high picks that are floundering and teetering on bust status.

The Kadri thing with the Islanders was always reported to be 7 years and in the drawer, Lou just had to file it. He must have fallen asleep.

It doesn't seem like the Flames are looking for reclamation projects. Young players with pedigree, prospects and picks (in no order) is what they're looking for.

Connie understands the league is going young. But he also knows you have to surround young players with good vets. So don't expect a fire sale of all the vets.

Great news about the demand for our UFAs.
COUNTRY HILLS TOYOTA - Official partner of the Calgary Flames. Hope we can get some dealers from them who can help sell our top UFA's

I'm Okay to sign a couple of Reclamation projects for next 1-2 years instead of some UFAs. Like Puljujärvi, Maatta or Jurmo type.

Did everyone forget this? I don't really care if the team announces they are rebuilding or not but if they continue to be in the bottom of the league then he will want out if possible.
It's kind of funny because the moment they started playing him with the kids - i.e., the exact type of linemates he'd have in a rebuild - we started getting the Kadri that was as advertised.

I thought it was confirmed that was Columbus and Kadri turned it down and Gaudreau’s camp reached out and they turned their focus to closing that deal

Battle of the insiderrrrrs but Sec214 is the only one definitively saying the Flames had the highest offer which counters the smoke around the Islanders and the other offer I forgot about which was 51 million dollars.

Sign them, sure - no downside. But that is not the same as taking them in trade, for our top end talent.
