Rival GM’s will try to test Conroy, and they’ll take advantage of him if they can. Lindholm is a top-line C, and should secure a good return, the market doesn’t change much when it comes to those players.
Lindholm’s drop in production is more a reflection of the team he plays for.

Since his two golden eggs left Lindholm has 29g-54a in 110 games plus wants $9m a year, simply put he has not performed and his GAF meter is at an all time low, I'm not sure why it’s on Conroy.

I agree. But he should have moved him prior to the season to wash his hands of this exact scenario. Just for a little counter argument.

I'm actually shocked Lundholm isn't trying to earn his payday. Instead he's just flatlined. Kind of a bummer as that has not been his MO since coming to CGY.

He is going to regret not taking the contract extension that was on the table at the beginning of the season.

What do I know but I think he'll get a great return, in part due to his low cap hit which will allow a greater number of teams to be in on trying to acquire him. Assuming the Flames retain 50%.

I'm sure his agent is even more shocked, lets see how much less he accepts from the $65m offer they turned down

Even on the team that he plays for he is holding on to 4th in PPG amongst forwards on the team with Yegor nipping at his heels. Nothing to scoff at being a top 6 forward on this team.

When’s the last time a player like Lindholm didn’t return a 1st or high end prospect?

Personally, I think Conroy is shooting more for the younger forward/top prospect.

To whom?
No one had cap room. Even at his number. Plus his extension number likely scarred many away.

He’s third in scoring with 19 points in 30 games. That’s indicative of a low-scoring team (currently 21st in GF).

Likely the problem.
Teams rather give up a late first.

Maybe winning is worth more to him? Its hard to say. Money creates its own problems at times also. Maybe he's just pouting.

It's not his GAF meter. He was playing with two very good players and it gave him a lot more room. He's not as good as most of us thought. That combination just worked really well. Based on this season I'm not sure if any of the three on that line are as good as we thought.
Lindholm trying to carry his own line is not even on pace for 20 goals.

They are 20th out of 32 teams in goals per game. He may just be a low scoring player because the team is middle of the pack in terms of goals per game.

1000% but it's not every year that you get the chance to add a #1 centre for a playoff run.

He is showing himself to be a fringe #1, better cast as a #2C. He’ll net a good return, but not a king’s ransom if this was 40 goal pace and selke candidate Lindholm.

All I’m testing is Jiri’s apparent assumption that Conroy can be completely absolved if the return is crap, because he has no control over the market.
If that were true then let a monkey handle the negotiations. Let Jay Feaster handle the negotiations. After all, the GM can’t control the market, right? Fans would be idiots for thinking he took a worse return on purpose for Iggy and Bouw than what the market dictated, right? We should look back on him with reverence.
