Agree. Just based on the rumours, it seems like several teams immediately asked about Zadorov and showed interest.
Zadorov has pretty wide appeal as far as playoffs go. I’m sure several teams called.

Yeah. The rest of the ufas are putting their heads down and playing indifferently. I sure hope teams start calling. Hard to watch 55 28 8 in addition to 16 right now. 29 and 88 as well.

and Zadorov is playing well?
I think some of you need to separate his big talk from his poor play
Zad has been a bum this season, last night was especially terrible. It was a 2-1 game until he decided to gift the other team a goal

I said he’s hard to watch in addition to all of the Pending ufas. They are brutal this season. Only reason to watch right now is guys like Popisil and Zary.

Why does it decrease? Conroy just needs to play it smart, the trade deadline was always the finish line.

Not if there is sufficient demand for the player, and there is for Zadorov.

Especially when said player is the only guy in town who has been vocal about staying. They have more teams attention on this particular player this week than they did last week.

I do find it odd that some posters cling to this idea. I've posted it before: the player saying they want out removes exactly one potential buyer from the buyer's market and that's the Calgary Flames. Which, I'm sure, if they offered Zadorov a long-term deal, they would be back in it.

I really have no idea what to expect in a Zadorov return, haven't seen many ideas out there aside from a couple dart throws by fans like Klingberg swaps and wishing for Holz.
Anybody see any actual rumors yet?
I'm assuming with the Flames win now mandate that we are gonna be going for a quantity deal like younger NHLer and a lower pick like we did in the Sharangovich trade rather than targeting one real high end asset like a late 1st and just promoting a youngster from the farm?

Maybe because there are intangibles with this sort of thing.
Teams know that there will be movement and players available but not necessarily which ones. One team off the market being the team with current rights shows an unhappiness that will compell the team to trade that individual.
So a team enquires "hey would you take a 4th round pick for Zadorov?" "Well we have some interest in him and actually are in negotiations for re signing him, but we'd consider a 2nd"
It simply takes negotiation points off the table. And sure that's not Zadorovs concern but let's not suggest it does nothing.

I've seen some rumors on Twitter saying Zadorv to TOR in the last half hour. Probably just rumors though, as I have yet to see a good source confirm them.

It would end being Minton, plus whatever the Flames can get for Klingberg at the deadline.

Don't mind Klingberg at all either. Don't think he's worth much at the deadline and would be beneficial to keep to help keep us in the basement with his terrible defensive play.

Minten would be a good return I think.
I also think Klingberg could increase his value on the Flames. He is a one-dimensional defenseman, but I think there would be a niche for him on the Flames. The worst case scenario is that the Flames can't trade him at the deadline and he walks, leaving us with Minten. The best case scenario is that he clicks and we could get a pick or another prospect for him. Either way, I doubt he would be consequential to the final standings for the Flames. I'd take that risk.
I'd also insist on conditions for Zadorov. If the Leafs advance in the playoffs and Zadorov plays x number of games, then the Flames get a draft pick as well. It's not too unusual to see conditions like that.

Powerplay Quarterback

I saw Klinberg + Minten + 3rd….
Make that a 2nd and add a future 1st for Tanev (at 50% retained) with a Samsonov for Vladar swap to help the cap.
