Maybe - the problem is that KD Lang stole his wife so he's mad at Calgary...and meanwhile is making a zillion dollars as the value of his franchise goes up and the quality of his team drops to some subterranean depth. He is punishing us!!

I'll take a guaranteed top 5 overall pick right now.
Another Bennett or Tkachuk so Murray Edwards can push for 16th place next year.

Even if it's the outcome, it's not a plan

So disappointing. More effort tonight though. Once again, no finish. Guess they don't mind losing enough yet.

It's like firing a guy because he is trying to fit a round peg in a square hole and then defending the new guy when he tries the same damn thing.
Guy, the players are who they are. How do you know the coach isn’t trying to get them to play a different way (a coach doesn’t come in with the same approach as the last). You don’t. Complain about something else. Dumb.

The more time passes the more I realize how Bread Treliving absolutely destroyed this franchise. He completely fumbled his 2 homegrown stars by walking Johnny to UFA and giving Chucky all the leverage on the bridge deal. His plan to build around those players failed and his pivot moves have resulted in the team having massive overpaid long term contracts.

Ownership has some blame here but once Chucky asked out they should have started tearing this thing down and building it back up for the new rink. It was so obvious in hindsight.

I didn't hate their game at 5v5 to be honest, created lots of chances and Shesterkin was good.

Special teams in the second was what killed then.
If shesterkin didn't make that crazy save off Coleman, the game might be different with a 2-0 lead.

We weren't great and we weren't terrible. Not sure what the advanced stats were

Another person and I were discussing the lack of a good finisher on this team, too. Who is Huberdeau going to pass to? Zero pure shooters on this squad.

Let Gaudreau, Zadorov, Gudbranson walk.
Let Sutter walk if he doesn't want to rebuild.
Trade Tkachuk for the best return. Too slow.
Let Monahan stick around for the cap floor.
Trade Toffoli, Coleman for picks.
Trade Hanifin for the best anyone will pay
Promote Ruzicka, Pellettier, Wolf, Valimaki and Phillips to the NHL.
See if a team will take Markstrom.

Do it right for one damn time in my lifetime
It was just the obvious play. I made that post BEFORE losing Gaudreau.

But Flames gonna Flame

It isn't though. Huberdeau has always been an all-star, Kadri is a 70 point talent, Lindholm is a very talented 2 way centre, Mangiapane has a great shot, etc... What, these guys suddenly forgot how to be good??? It's this fn terrible perimeter shot system, full tilt. The only thing that is been remotely productive was the Gaudreau- Lindholm, Tkachuk line and that worked because they didn't play that system, they did there own thing that as Darryl put it was just guys wanting to pad their personal stats. So sick of people on here saying they have no talent, every hockey expert said they had one of the deepest rosters in hockey.

Yeah, but they probably won’t stay this bad. Paces at this point don’t mean anything. Canes are pacing about the same as the Flames. Do you think they will really out suck Columbus, Chicago, San Jose, Anaheim, Washington, Philly, and Arizona. It’s not easy getting a top 5 pick

All the more reason why his play since getting here has been so disappointing. And if anything, it seems to be getting worse. There's no way to hold a player accountable once he signs a retirement contract, is there?

Deshawn Watson of hockey? I'm really hoping he's not.

Huberdeau needs a shooter with speed, I don't care what he should or shouldn't be able to do at his salary. Find it

My body is ready for the Wolf and Zary.

Can we throw Poirier in too, while we're at it?

Flames win 56.4% of the time per MoneyPuck the first time I ran it. Second time was 51.3%. Definitely not a "bad" game.

Because they are playing the same way in the o zone. Do you actually watch hockey? Like do you not understand that you can actually watch and see what they are doing? Try it sometime before shooting your mouth off. Stick to drinking the dome foam

D coverage is fine...the game was 1-0 at even strength against a high flying team
