Josh Bailey has been released from his PTO with the Sens. 45 pt avg a year guy who plays RW.

Probably get him for under 1M for 1 season.

Bailey was a mainstay with the Islanders for so many years. Quite the fall.

Have any of the PTOs across the league signed NHL deals? I see a few have signed AHL deals, but didn't see any get NHL deals, although I may have missed it.

I would sign him for that. If he doesn't work out waive him.

Bailey is a good two-way player with some size.

Colin White (Pittsburgh)
Zach Aston-Reese (Detroit, although his PTO was in Carolina)

Max Willman (New Jersey)

Friedman on 32 thoughts podcast says:

Flames haven't gotten to where Lindholm needs the contract to be to re-sign
Thinks number is going to $9 million

Thinks that Flames may shift focus and start looking at Tanev and Hanifin if they can't get Lindholm done in the short term

Thinks they will be careful with term on Tanev like they were with Backlund

Surprised that Hanifin discussions are taking place but he thinks they are happening

May try to get one or both of Tanev and Hanifin done and go back to Lindholm and see what he says.

Point per game wasn’t good enough for the Sens? They have too many of those guys kickin around?

I’d take a run at Bailey 100%.

Haven’t listened yet but doesn’t sound terribly promising on Lindholm. Flames holding firm from the sounds of it which I can understand.

2 years for Tanev would be good. If Hanifin resign’s, that would be a pleasant surprise.

I got some legitimate intel on Lindholm yesterday from someone who had heard the numbers from Bean himself. Nothing we haven’t really heard already.

Flames offered $8.3x8
Lindholm countered with $9.3x8
Flames countered with $8.6x8
Lindholm’s response was $9.3x8

It is in line with what we have heard with comments like the ball is in the Flames court and the talk that it has to get over $9M to get the deal done

Trade him. I was on board on re-signing lindholm considering flames refuse to rebuild. But over $9 million is a non starter for me.

The news on Hanifin is great news he was one of thr few who sounded like he actually was honest in wanting to be here.

I think Conroy not forcing guys to sign during the summer and waited for them to get back to the city and feel the vibes was huge.

Backlund sounded like he was done and now he's captain and signed for 2 more years.

I'd rather focus on Hanifin. Lindholm can wait no way he gets that in free agency.

If Lindholm is set on 9, I hope the flames let him show he's worth it for 20 games. Just say, hey if you want 9, have 10 goals and 10 assists by game 20. Easy right?

But if you have less, the number changes. If you have 15 points, you're probably worth 7.

On A different topic - Sportsnet is reporting that TML has signed Muzzin as a scout. Does he not have to retire first? Is he allowed to be on LITR for the last year of his contract and be paid to scout? Is there no recapture penalty?

Also reporting that Nick Robertson has been sent down, bug Capfriendly shows him as injured? Can they do that?

Agreed, I think even $8.6 X 8 was very generous.
I would have been very concerned at that signing.

Feels like it's time to move on from Lindholm & officially clean slate from the Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk era.
They all wanted to get paid off of 21/22 and only Tkachuk will continue to live up to those standards IMO.

Focusing on Hanifin & Tanev would be A) Surprising and B) Signaling the end of Lindholm here if they're signed
