Maybe it's just me, but I don't want Nylander here (above a relatively low cost in return), and I don't want to trade with Toronto. Let's look elsewhere for destinations for Lindholm and Hanifin.

I doubt Zegras has wanted out but Anaheim won’t have all three of him, Mctavish, and Carlsson playinng center there long term. Sign Zegras at about the salary of Lindholm+Hanifin combined or less and he can be a long term piece here.

I don’t know if Zegras is the guy you want to back up the truck for, could hit 100 or could remain a 60-70 point guy… but I don’t hate a deal like that for that kind of player (young, high upside potentially long term top line center).
Minnesota also has 14.7 million in dead cap space this year and next. I don't think they would have much of an appetite to try and obtain high-priced veterans right now.

So Anaheim, a rebuilding team, let's Lindholm go after the year (as they don't want 3 centres according to you).
Why would Anaheim want to do the opposite of the Tkachuk deal? They've seen the ending of that movie.
I'm mostly kidding. But parlaying our pending UFAs into a premier forward without sacrificing any futures, assuming you can sign him (and that is a big assumption), isn't a terrible idea. Especially given the soft trade market. I think you could talk Tre into a hockey trade based around these pieces. He did it last summer...
It is a terrible idea swapping 2 pending UFA’s for 2 others. Brodie is a massive downgrade on Hanifin and I don’t see an upgrade on the winger Nylander and the center Lindholm. Flames then extend Nylander to the 8x9.5 he wants and are stuck with $20M on the top 2 wingers for the next 7-8 years.
