I don't post here a lot. I usually just lurk from time to time. Quick question: where are all those Oilers fans who seemed really gung-ho to talk hockey leading up to this series?

If he can't play he shouldn't. If you step onto the ice to play you're 100%.

I wonder if Smugcroft attempts to even out his lines next game or if he'll stick to McDrai and watch his other lines get eaten alive again.

McDrai worked against LA because LAs depth is weak compared to Vegas. You take them out of the equation against the other 3 Vegas lines and you get the result we saw tonight.

I'm amazed a team with the German Gretzky could even lose a single game. Astonishing.

He's right though. It's unspoken, but if someone if hurting and you know it, you give those extra shots.

But if it's cool to do it to Stone, they need to speak out and say it's okay if the next time the same thing happens to McDavid and Draisaitl.

Watching a replay and saw the pissy dive with about 7 min left. Embarrassing for a star player. As bad as the Seguin dive Tuesday night. I’m actually shocked they didn’t call the knights. Though I wish they had and called deutsche d**che for embellishment. Would set a standard at least. Might be one of the most talented players in the league, but unfortunately he’s still a diver and an arrogant d-bag.

I will say this for pissy- barely looks like he is trying on his goals. Though also barely looks like he is trying on the backcheck as well.

The reason for the extra day off is due to the arena availability in Seattle and Sunrise, Florida. There were other events already scheduled for this Saturday so the hockey games were moved to Sunday. The Oilers-Knights Friday night game was then moved to being a solo Saturday at 1700h Mountain time.

The whole "targeting" Stone thing seems a little made up by the panel.

Out of the clips they show, Kane's crosscheck seems like the only one that would be targeted.
They show Mcdavid swinging his stick past him with one hand not even making contact.
RNH with a tiny shoulder bump after Stone plays the puck.
Nurse, Bouchard, and Desharnais giving him cross checks when he's in front of the net, which happens approximately 100 times per game.

Not really seeing the concerted effort at targeting Stone that the panel is selling.

He is completely correct. If a player is injured, you target them. If it was the Flames playing Vegas, I’d want them to do the same to Stone every chance they get.

Regardless if it’s happening or not, it’s the game within the game. The Oilers should be marking him for the punishment every chance they get. Just like every team should do the same to any Oiler who may be playing injured.

I was going to post the same thing. Yeah he's got a hard shot but it's not Michael Stone hard and Stone scored 6 goals in 30 less games. It's just embarrassing that's allowed on a national telecast. Say what you want about Toronto but you don't hear that crap on a Leafs broadcast.

It’s a matter of opinion/bias as to if it’s happening or not
The point is, it probably is happening, it’s part of the game.
Just don’t complain when it’s happening to your team and then glorify it when your team is doing it

Remember when Oilers fans talked about how classless the Flames were last year for taking wacks at Leon’s injured ankle? How the turntables. And I honestly didn’t support the Flames doing that. I think it’s It’s just that every team is gonna try to exploit an injury to a star player they know about. I don’t think that’s a good thing

All this talk about targeting injured players got me thinking. Is there any fundamental difference between targeting an injury and intent to injure? It's the exact same thing.
One is punishable, the other is laudable.
The Code is weird.

It's part of the game, but I agree with Eakins that it's malicious.
