Florida's final game of the season is HUGE. They need 2 points in order to pass NYI and avoid BOS in the first round. Best part: the game is against CAR - they same team they'll face if they win.

That should be an entertaining game to end the season with. Would be great if they win it and face Carolina in round one. Not sure who the Canes would rather face, but I'd guess they might prefer the Isles given how the Panthers have done down the stretch. New York v. Boston and Carolina v. Florida also seem like the better round one rivalries.

If Carolina loses and NJ beats Washington (which is very possible), NJ would win the division and play Florida — I think. Carolina would drop to second and play the Rangers in the first round.

I'm not really cheering Tkachuk, but I'll cheer on Brodie, Gio and Bennett to have playoffs success. Any others worth cheering on?

Kulak & Ryan?

Oh, that's interesting. I didn't really follow the chain all the way when I looked last night lol. You're right though!

If I'm the Panthers, I'm doing everything I can to avoid wasting 8 days in Boston.

That would be a great series. Good to watch former Flames go head-to-head too.

Incidentally, how good does "Eight Days in Boston" sound as a movie title? Could be a thriller or a comedy... or something completely different if Boston is just the name of one of the characters...

Naw, I'm just a guy who's hardly ever serious, loves cracking jokes and has an eclectic sense of humour. Some of them land, some of them don't... but I also lack a filter, so unless I try really hard I'm unable to turn it off.
People either laugh or don't laugh. Sometimes a person will go out of their way to make sure I know they didn't laugh, but those people are often the reason I do it in the first place.

Gaudreau with the OT winner tonight after a terrible line change by Pittsburgh:
https://twitter.com/user/status/1646690636131696646
He finishes with 79 GP, 20 G, 53 A, 73 points.
Remarkably, his +/- went from +64 to -33. A decrease of 97, that has to be a record.

Johnny and Toffoli having the same number of points was definitely not something I saw coming

It reminds me of that Aeroflot plane crash where the first officer bet the flight captain that he wouldn't be able to land the plane using just instruments and no visuals. The first officer won the bet, but in realty, they all lost.

Wonder if Gaudreau even gets back to being a top scorer

I'm hoping Columbus drafts Bedard and we get to see him and Johnny playing together.

Him being in the east would be the best part of that
BJs kinda blew it though by winning

Not without some help. But who in their right mind is going to choose to play in Columbus? Like, really?
Their only chance is to draft a supremely gifted offensive player who can step in and be the finisher to complement Gaudreau. But what are the odds of that happening any time soon…
