I assume that’s the issue, you can’t refute it so you ignore it. Fox News viewer? lol.
How about we just don’t try and compare hockey players to racist misogynists without facts.

Bruh, I don't even know what you're rattling on about. I'm about as left as it gets down here, not that it matters or is a badge of honor.
Your wokeness has gone into looney tunes land where not even Gandhi is good enough for you. I feel sorry for you to not understand historical context and the nuanced complexity that makes up a single human being. Nobody will ever be good enough in your eyes. Good luck to you.

Gandhi was great when he was first called up from South Africa to center a line with Nehru and Singh.

Honestly have been a great center for Iginla. Iginla could have thrown down the gloves when Ghandi refused. Too bad he believed Iginla was an inferior race who should not be on the same team as him.

Fun fact: Both Sean Monahan and Mahatma Gandhi have parks named after them.

Back on track. I love me some Sean Monahan. IMO a lot of his injuries come from just how often he got crosschecked/slashed for being in the centre of the ice (his prime garbage man goal spot) for 6+ years and absorbing similar or even more levels of Punishment than Gaudreau. Ergo, I ultimately blame Dennis Wideman, that unforgiveable ####, for ruining Monahan's career by ensuring the refs wore total blinders against flames players for 5 years.

Gotta wonder what the Tkachuk trade looks like if Gaudreau is staying.

IMO Tkachuk probably stays if Johnny is still in.

Flames at the least keep him until the deadline, or right to UFA and let him walk (the whole time assuming they can get him signed).

The Flames and everyone around them thought the deal was done. He called Brad last second after stringing him along and said thanks for accepting my offer but I am going home.

As much as it did suck to lose Johnny like we did, it is far more gruesome and egregious for the franchise to have lost Tkachuk like that. I think the trade was fine, but we should have been moving heaven and earth to extend him long term after first contract. I'm talking selling contracts on the cheap to make it happen. It was obviously a huge, huge error to not immediately prioritize matt as #1 on the team list. C'est la vie I suppose, but many of us knew he was our most important player ~3 season before he left.

Matthew Tkachuk was gone regardless of the Johnny situation.
It was either time for the Flames to become the Matthew Tkachuk show and give him everything wanted he wanted or he was out, and no way he sticks around while Darryl is here.
When they asked Darryl to compare Tyler and Matthew he said Tyler is a low maintenance player so that should tell you everything.
Its more about the brand for Matthew and spotlight on himself.

The Flames could make a list of the stars who departed who hurt the franchise the most.
Along with Gaudreau and Tkachuk, MacInnis, Nieuwendyk, Fleury, Mullen, Gilmour, Suter, Roberts and others could make this list.
Giordano could maybe be on the list. He looks like he is doing amazing in Toronto and is playing for almost nothing. Too bad that couldn't be here.

Yes, it would definitely suck for the spotlight of our franchise to be on a mid 20s 100+ point producer with attitude and star level presence. That would just be f'in horrible.
