Sabres are 5-5-0 so they've gained a game on them too.

10 games ago they were also chasing the Wings and Caps. This is no longer the case. With fewer teams to leapfrog, they absolutely are closer to the playoffs.

They gained 2 points on the Pens in 10 games

3 back and the Pens have 2 in hand

They aren't out of it but they certainly aren't in the drivers seat

Seemed implied.."navigating their way to a playoff spot"

Gained 2 points on the last playoff team in 10 games, they are in tough. They can beat the Jets Saturday.

Win that game and they're 2pts back of the Isles with equal games played.

The Sharks are being burned by the Avalanche, it is 6-0 Colorado!

The Kraken lead 2-0.

That seems highly unlikely. Both PIT and NYI won tonight.

They went from trailing DET, WAS, BUF, NYI to just trailing NYI for the final spot. Big difference if you ask me.

I'll take BUF and OTT to be the wildcards.

these teams took themselves out it wasn't anything the Panthers did...they are also tied with Buffalo really

Why are you suddenly their biggest fan? Also, all these teams are getting murdered by Boston anyway

I definitely don't see Pittsburgh falling out.

Probably not, 5 points on even games played is lots to make up.

Thinking both Boston and/or Carolina/NJ hope that you are right. I'd much rather play PIT over BUF/OTT in round 1.

I think Ottawa is getting pretty overrated ... they just lost 5–0 to Chicago

Perhaps they got over their skis a little bit, but I can't help but feel those young teams with no expectations are extremely dangerous.

Can't say the same things about the WC in the Western Conference.

But the East WCs have to through juggernauts in Boston and Carolina.

In the West, all 8 playoff teams are within 7 points of eachother. Anyone can finish anywhere.

It’s truly a year where the old adage “get in and anything can happen” holds water.

Yeah, if that's only 2 games, why are they even bothering with suspensions?

That's silly and I have no idea why you got that impression. Just made a quick observation, a bunch of people pushed back, I stood by my original statement. Not much more to say.
