Markstrom would be getting roasted. Vladar fell short

Man, you guys blow things out of proportion sometimes
Every statistical and logical estimation shows the Flames are out barring a miracle now.

It's fine you're an eternal optimist, but that's actually the perspective that's out of proportion now.

They have a system in place. Basically somebody from upstairs gives him the yes or no to challenge. Obviously they didn’t think it was winnable. Not on Sutter. What can he realistically see from his vantage point? He has a staff and looks like they could have cost us a call. The head coach relies on his video guys and the information that was sent to the bench looks bad after seeing the replays.

No idea why they didn't perk up and call it

Sutter and his challenge guy off in lala land?

Sutter-

“Ok boys, we’re up 3-1 going into the third. I don’t want any of you playing the same way we played in the first two periods! Slow the game down...I want defence, cycle the puck backwards and stop forechecking.”

So why wasn’t Lucic benched late in the 3rd? His mistakes/lack of foot speed resulted in 2 Knights goals

Someone needs to coach these guys on OT strategy.

Backlund trying an end to end 1 on 3 rush is a waste of energy. It’s all about possession and creating odd man rushes. Especially 2 on 1’s. Gaudreau was incredibly good at it because he was so hard to cover 1 on 1, and if he worked around long enough chances were he could beat someone and bang. 2 on 1.

Or in our case a 3 on 2 that ends up in our net because of a bad rush, a tired forward and a dumb change.

Well I recalled some one mentioned that the Flames gonna win 5 out of next 7, and I replied with 5-0-2. So, this game is one of the 2.

That challenge is 50/50 IMO

Could have cost a point as easily as gained one

Can’t win when up after 40 either.

Sad sack team.

Well. I mean.. I suppose it's possible still? But this is pretty damned dire for this season.
After the OTL tonight, the Flames would be “do not control destiny” for all 8 playoff positions? They’re in trouble.

Not an eternal optimist at all

When you play the direct competition twice (essentially 8 points of swing potential) its not over

That's not forcing a fantasy, that's telling the situation like it is

The league has changed and Sutter refuses to change with it.

Sutter is not the solution in the new NHL.

Realistically we get in and play the Knights currently? We're bounced in 4. Maybe we should sell

Just sell anything with a pulse that teams are willing to take and move on.

Outside of Wolf there's not a player on this team worth desperately holding onto should a proper offer come our way.

Terrible killer instict, terrible goaltending, terrible line management.

M-E-D-I-O-C-R-I-T-Y at its finest.
