I kind of wish Bella Ramsey was a better actor. It's really the only critique I have of the show so far. Her facial expressions in last night's episode was so deadpan during the shooting as she's not very good at showing expressions like when she was tearing up. Originally I wasn't a fan of the casting of her or Pascal but Pascal has managed to do Joel justice while I don't think Ramsey is there yet for Ellie.
she's played two characters in a row now that are all about the tough exterior, I just assumed it was her always used to hiding the emotions. but yes it could just be natural stone face.
Random TikTok guy explaining how the infection in flour can survive being baked at high temperature, as was the case in the infection in rye bread, called “ergotism”: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMYjeKA4c/
Such a small thing, but I really appreciated how Joel talked about gas becoming less efficient over time requiring many fillups to keep going. That and the homemade car battery shows a finer attention to detail than even the games managed

The amount of time and scale of production they spent at the airport tunnel for the scene to be that short is... insanity.
Someone spent hours hand-painting the glass to the Coin Laundry they drove through without showing it. This entire truck to laundry crash scene took a week to film and they drove the truck through multiple times as I watched from across the street. It doesn't include the fact that this was built from scratch in a parking lot and there were a lot of other fake buildings put in the surrounding area that you barely glimpse in shots. This is CPA Lot 63B beside Mainstreet Equity's office.
They also filmed some parts or variations of this at night but didn't end up using it.

How about 8th Ave by The Globe? All this and on screen for less than 10 seconds total.
Instead of a cheap soundstage for a dark fully enclosed scene where all Joel does is break some glass and go to sleep in a room where you can't even make out any details, they blocked off Centennial Place for several days (will show up next episode) and paid a fortune to film inside actual offices that had tenants.
