And this draft is supposed to be deep. You've got a heck of a chance to pick up a good player for years, in exchange for 30 games of Bo Horvat. And they can still do whatever they want with the two players they got.
It’s also a list 10,000 times longer than that full of nobodies.

You have 80,000 names to name, so I'd suggest you get started.

NYI is in now or never mode, might as well push all-in.

Can always cut bait for 90 cents on the dollar if he won't re-sign and the team isn't trending better.

Looks like they've been a bit streaky, but mostly just had a crappy January. 7-9-5 with Pelech out of the lineup vs. 18-13-0 with him in, and he's back now.

It looks pretty clearly like 6 teams fighting for the 2 wildcard spots, but it really boils down to WAS or PIT falling for NYI to make it.

Kind of curious now if Horvats trade cues the total purge of the Nucks core.

He just wasn't a 99 point center. He's more like a 75 point winger. And that's still good, and still worth 8 million bucks, if your team is a contender. But it makes no sense to pay that guy 8 million bucks into his 30s if your team stinks and your issue is defence. Put that guy on the Hurricanes, Stars or Kraken and he's well worth his money. They'll find a taker for him eventually.

Pelletier was in his draft+3 for his first AHL season.

Ratu is in his draft+2.

So he's in the AHL a bit earlier which does make a difference.

Overall he's in the same range as his peers and looked fine in his NHL games. Way too early to really determine one way or another yet.

He’s still representing the Canucks at all star game. Weird.

And now, Demko wants out of Vancouver too. With nothing left by the summer, you do wonder if Pettersson stays around after his agent assured Canucks fans he loves the city and wants to stay. Kuzmenko is going to be the only guy left in town with Garland, Miller, Boeser, OEL and Beauvillier.

I was laughing when they traded the Dylan Guenther pick to Arizona for Ekman-Larsson. Now they could very realistically have two top 13 picks in one of the strongest drafts in our lives.

I don't like this at all.

And Buffalo that has 3 games in hand on them

You think New York is going to lose ground after this trade? Or barely miss the playoffs, and Vancouver gets that pick?

What makes you think Kuzmenko isn't getting traded too?

(but actually all of those guys except OEL could get traded)

It’s post dated to the 9923/9924 draft hosted in Hartford.

Wat? The only way Vancouver ends up with 2 top 13 picks this draft is if the Islanders pick end up 13th

Very unlikely

Which means they're the 4th best team to miss the playoffs. Is that very unlikely?

Even if they're 3rd, 2nd, or the best team to miss the playoffs, it doesn't change the calculation at all.
