There’s no way Lewis is sitting. Ritchie can actually score. Kadri line is going. First line is essentially the power play. Backlund line is playing well.

Lucic is the odd man out.

Would like to see Phillips get some time on that top line, but I think this could be ideal!

Replace Zohorna with Lucic if that's how it has to be, but I think that would be a monumental improvement on our 4th line! And Phillips has played with Ruzicka before, Backlund would really anchor that line! I'm quite excited to hear that he is getting the call up! And I hope they do bring up Zohorna as well!

I think this was all a matter of timing, the team seems to have figured some stuff out. Our Defense is playing Sutter style defense and as a result Coach is giving them a little more of a leash, our Offense seems to be trending in that direction as well. Vladar making some great and timely saves, which only bolsters the confidence of the team in front of him.

Kadri will have Phillips on his wing.

So happy for Matty Phillips. The best Victoria Royal ever and a guy who single-handedly brought countless people into the arena. He is the only Royals player to have been worth the price of admission on his own. Just a magical player - his edge work, elusivity, and ability to make defenders miss are incredible. I really hope he gets a chance this time. I'll be heartily cheering him on.

Got a kick out of going back to the thread I had created following his 2016-17 junior year where he scored 50. There is some awesome posts in there later on in the thread by Red John breaking down some live viewings and the highlight packs are time stamped with Phillips highlights! Crazy to think it’s almost been 6 years since then! I’m rooting for Philly to prove it at the final level and couldn’t have asked for a better bday game tomorrow hahahaha! First game against Gaudreau? Potential first game of the season for Philly and first meaningful NHL game?!!?! Pumped!
