You know, if you'd told me at the end of October that a week into November it'd be -20 outside and the Canucks would be 1 point back of the Flames in the standings I don't think I would have believed you.

expectations are nice and low now . should make any minor improvement hugely enjoyable, if I dont move on to doing other things on game nights first

We like to make fun of the Oilers for their team defense but the Flames haven't been any better during this slump.
All it is, is giveaway, after giveaway, after giveaway. Or leaving someone wide open. It's embarrassing.

Who had Flames, Penguins, and Blues as the worst teams in the league? Anyone? Anyone?

Finishing and goaltending is the issue right now.

the other teams goalie saving more despite facing more high danger chances and shots against is getting old . very old

So many invisible forwards. Mangiapane disappeared for stretches last year but at least we had a line that could score. We have nothing this year.

Markstrom gives up a soft goal every game. They’re finding ways to lose. It’ll turn around if our goaltending stabilizes.

I am sorry, but the 3rd goal was terrible. And Markstrom was beaten 5 times on 22 shots.
Goaltending is 70% of hockey, unless you don't have it, and then it's 100%

Markstrom has been terrible this year. Cost us at least 3 games not including giving away the lead in this one. If not for some hot play from the team early in the season (Vegas game pops to mind) could be even more. Something needs to be done to address this or the season is a wrap.
Also gotta question Sutters decision to have Lewis out there over Toffoli ecspecially after the TO. One guy scored the goal to tie it up. The other did nothing all game. Baffling decisions.

They got issues, injuries, lack of cohesion, confidence, turnovers, but the biggest issue is Markstrom. They aren't playing great, far from it, but you can't continue to out chance and out shoot the opponent and have the 2nd best goalie on the ice every god damn game. The guy is broken and continuously give up 1 a game where he should stop the puck. I was a fan of his but that is going away real quick.

16/21 teams made the playoffs then. You can’t get away with that now.

Also, PPs were 5-4 for Jersey, and was there a PP when they were trailing in the 3rd? Nope. Even though there was a brutal interference that they could have (should have) called

Markstrom just isn't a good goalie he's back to being the goalie always was after a anomaly of a season for him. He hardly has any work and gives up bad goals every game.
Puzzling coaching once again and that's the game.
