I want to believe in your optimism but something seems so broken with this team right now. When the shots were 18-4 you just knew this was one of those games. I don't like blaming goalies but that's another game with a sub .900 save percentage. Ain't going far with those numbers.

they are over .500 against teams that are combined like 30+ games above .500

accept what you want but the Flames are ticking a lot of tough games off their schedule. They dominate the Islanders on the road, they probably do pretty well against Sharks or whoever

He’s not wrong that that’s a penalty on Rasmus

It’s that the refs CHOSE not to call our goalie getting tripped behind the net when it was clear as day and probably would have decided the game

Coleman’s no look pass from behind the NYI net into their crease that led to the second NYI goal drives me crazy. This team team plays stupid with the lead. Just keep it behind the net and grind out the clock.

It's embarassing that he need to grovel to the refs to get them to be objective.

Players get called out publically when the eff up. Is it so crazy to expect some accountability for the ref's.

Results are hard to come by as of late. My biggest concern is the apparent lack of skill in the top 6. Also, Sutter needs to stop sending messages and just win games. The reliance on the bottom guys is infuriating. Yes, these are role players and they can set the tone but you need to shorten the bench at times and let your best players sink or swim. Really frustrating and I’m a huge Sutter fan.

100% this

Refs were punishing them for calling out the bad reffing last game

Kadri's pass back to the point, that led to the 3rd goal was even worse - a moronic play

still should be called after ignoring everything else the islanders did all night . a goalie going down is at least one of the easier things to call .. still didn't call it

Look, I know people like to clown the Oilers for playing McDavid and Draisaitl so much. But that’s honestly what most teams do when their team is down. Play your best scorers as much as possible to get back into a game. Lucic and Rooney shouldn’t be on the ice and getting as much 5v5 time they’re getting when your team needs a goal

I was thinking this exactly, just put the puck in deep. We're ahead at this point, no need to force a play like that.

3rd goal was on Desimone but he played well otherwise

its a fine line...you also can't sit back in this league, they really should have been up by more than 2

IF you call it evenly throughout. The Rasmus penalty looks horrid in hindsight purely because of what they let go for the Islanders. You cannot let everything go for one team and then pick and choose what the other team gets called for, especially in OT.

Hrudey was right, you can't call the Rasmus play and not the trip on Markstrom. Complete bush league, makes it the NHL looked rigged.
It's almost like the leugue can be gambled on now... I'm sure everything is on the up and up. No way other sports have had a big problem before because of gambling...

Maybe, but it got tipped, and IIRC there was a Flames forward still not back in the zone and one that was just in the zone, when DiSimone threw it up the boards where he figured a forward would be to battle.
