I've said it for years - the Flames keep trading "get in the playoffs" for genuine success through drafting. Make the playoffs every year. If that's the mandate, and it was when Ken King was President, then eventually you run into the situation the Flames are in - not much for prospects, and it isn't clear that the current on-ice product is good enough.

It's not a coaching thing. It's a talent thing. Was hoping Huberdeau was going to breath some life into the offense, and maybe we'll see that yet. I'm astonished at how invisible he and Lindholm are.

Does anyone here really think Sutter would replace a guy like Mackey with a guy like Poirier?

Porier is developing nicely, but as a call-up, I can’t see the team going this direction.
And if things were so dire that he were to be called up, then the Flames are a lottery team or Porier is putting up astronomical totals.

Marky made some pretty incredible saves last year and was a wall at times.

No one else pronounces it this way

That guide also says Giordano is "jee-ohr-DAN-oh", and we know Gio asked to have his name pronounced properly.

It's also a safe bet most European players have their names mispronounced too. You could argue the English pronunciation is good enough, but again I bet Singh asked Kadri specifically what he would prefer.
