Well, that's probably the last home game of the year as Ottawa are up 2-0 on Pacific going into leg 2. Bus ride back was a great time. Beers on the patio after in October was a great time.
I refuse to get my hopes up for games against Forge, but the result yesterday was probably a fair one.

If it's not Cavalry's year to win it all, I've got no problems with Ottawa taking the title.

There is no way to measure how badly I would like Cavalry FC to upset the forge at home.
Best case scenario would be a BS call giving Bekker or Borges a Red early in the match, or a bogus PK. I want Forge tears.

You and I both know that would just lead to the match being replayed after the league deemed it unfair.

I don't know, I love the team and everything they've done. I personally just don't see Canadian soccer reaching a point where a team in Calgary would come close to filling a 12k stadium.
I feel like 5500 is actually about right, and I do love the feel of the stadium, minus the openness on the west side that takes away from the intimacy feel.
What I'd like is for them to stay there, but add very limited, steepl seating right along the field with the players benches tight close to the seats. So basically maybe 6-8 rows high all the way across with very steep seats that basically add a 20-30 foot high barrier to properly enclose the stadium.
This would add maybe 1000 seats and give us a really beautiful, intimate and intimidating 6500 seat stadium.

Did they announce the official attendance for the game?

I was looking for a number and haven’t seen one. I thought it filled up some though. I don’t think it was that bad of a crowd, considering everyone had to buy a ticket (it wasn’t part of the seasons ticket package).

Attendance was 3167. Playoff games can be a tough sell at this level, especially when there are only a few days to sell tickets.

Personally, I don't see a new stadium happening any time soon. Maybe a decade out at earliest. Gotta keep growing demand and start selling out Spruce Meadows to begin with.

That’s too bad. It was a beautiful afternoon and it seemed like the stands were a little fuller than that. I have no idea though and I’m not good at estimating crowds. I *think* the fullest was Vancouver in year one, which was a beautiful night and the atmosphere was electric!

I am keen on renewing my season tickets. If prices go up by a lot it will be more difficult to swallow, because the resale of single game tickets is very poor as it is.

I'm renewing my season tickets without question. Best ticket value / bang for buck in the city for literally almost any event - sporting or otherwise.
The beer prices at Spruce Meadows though, can take a long walk off a short dock.

Yeah, $16.50/pint at the Corner Kick is more than egregious.
And they got rid of the old fashioned this year! Truthfully, my liver says thank you, but I was sad to see that go. I'm pretty sure they sold enough of those to me that this was a noticeable loss to their bottomline this season

I'm gonna have to start having more beers at the Rose and take the bus... I can get two beers there for the price of one at Spruce Meadows, don't have to pay $10 for parking, and get to hang out with the best supporters and fans in the CPL from start to finish!
Last Saturday's supporters bus was insanely fun. I wish that was EVERYTIME

I really think that we should organize a CP/Cavalry meetup. There are a lot of us at these games and it's amusing to me that we could've all met each other three seasons in, but seemingly have not. Or we've met and stood beside each other and just haven't realised who we are...which is equally as amusing to me!

100% down for this. I'm sure a number of us have crossed paths without knowing it. with 3000-4000 people there you certainly start to recognize the regulars in attendance
