Giordano did not leave as a free agent. He was lost to the expansion draft. Seattle would have claimed another player, and Kylington was the next best player the Flames exposed.

He just looked genuinely frazzled and doing his best not to show how pissed off he is that Johnny took this to the last hour to tell the Flames he won't sign. He had a couple of slips where he was about to say "what Johnny just did to this team" implying how he hamstrung them in the end.

I'm honestly not that upset. Johnny is a magical player to watch. And Johnny is better than Tkachuk. But Johnny is also older.
Having $20m tied up on two wingers is not a recipe for a Stanley Cup. The flames now have one less franchise winger, but also have an additional $10m in cap space. A year from now, Lucic and Monahan will be off the books. And if the flames can target a franchise center, they'll be a stronger team in 2023-24 than they were this year.

Treliving’s pissed and he should be pissed at himself. Over confidence of singing Gaudreau.
Flames should have given Jonny a firm deadline for a decision, giving the player this much power over your franchise is not very smart.
