Makes you feel a lot better about Felix's effort. Just not a lot anyone could do against him in that form.

Hurkacz has made five finals on the ATP tour and is now 5-0. That's...pretty darn good.

Makes sense that he's cool in the big moments given that his game is generally not prone to a wide range of quality, it's just "consistently really good".
Anyway, Bianca's back on court tomorrow. Unfortunately, she drew Trevisan in the first round, which isn't an easy start. But she's certainly capable of winning that.

Rebecca got into Eastbourne as a LL and then defeated Heather Watson. In other news, Vasek is back (played a challenger event last week), but lost his first qualifying match.

Next time you shank a serve badly, just remember that it does happen at the pro level as well...

1-1 as far as the Canadian ladies are concerned on the grass today - Rebecca Marino lost a tough one to Camila Giorgi 7-5 6-4, but Bianca just polished off Martina Trevisan 6-3 6-1 (it was 3-3 in the opening set and then Bianca won 9 of the next 10 games).

The genie has finally been let out of the bottle...
The ATP has announced that ‘off-court’ coaching will be trialled for the second half of the season. The trial will permit coaching from designated coach seats during qualifying and main draw matches at ATP Tour events, starting from the week of 11 July 2022.
The trial will also take place at the US Open and will run through to the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals in Turin in November.

I mean, Mouratoglou isn't the only one doing coaching obviously, but he's the highest profile coach that was caught and his immediate defense was to say other coaches are doing it. Mouratoglou and Tsitsipas have a close relationship and Stef has tweeted several times that he thinks coaching should be allowed on tour (his dad has been flagged numerous times for coaching as we all know). I don't like it either, but if they're doing this trial coaching thing, I think it's here to stay.

Watched a bit of the Bjorklund match (Shapovalov's girlfriend). Her game is absolutely power and very wild.
She beat Errani in a 3rd set tiebreaker in the first round of qualifying.
Check out these stats.
9 Ace
73 winners
64 unforced errors

I think this is going to be a black eye for tennis and adds very little compared to what it could take away as it becomes more and more acceptable.
Coaching isn't going to help a guy like Zverev not choke on his serve during critical points anymore than it's going to help someone find an answer for Nadal's return game mid match.

There are a lot of players who can't afford to pay for the coach to travel to all of their tournaments. Has this been considered?
