Granted, Avs have the best D-pairing in the league. The Flames don't have a pairing anything close to Makar-Toews.

Frankly, I didn't expect either the Flames or the Coilers to make it PAST the Avs, but I expected the Flames to make it TO the Avs, over the Oilers.

Maybe, just maybe the Avs knows regular season stats means nothing while the Flames were still trying to prove everyone wrong during the regular season. That's the difference between an experienced team vs the Flames.

Isn't that contract by default a No-move? Seems redundant...

Without Tanev though I doubt it
|
Knowing now how badly Tanev was hurt, and having seen the difference he makes to the Flames and the hole he leaves when out, the chances of a deep run or a shot at the cup was probably eliminated in the moment he got injured against Dallas and before the Flames even knew they would play the Oilers.

Nah, if Colemans goal counts, and the Oilers started crumbling in Game 6, Flames would have much more confidence through Game 6 and 7 as a team and as individuals (defence and Markstrom) and be riding a high because of the comeback, nothing to lose as well into this round. And would be considered underdogs
Plus, playing Colorado would get back to playing Flames style where we could roll 4 lines.
Still may not have come out ahead but would've been great series.

IDK he thought the Coleman no goal call was right...any good will he built up over the season is long gone IMO

Generational awareness because he can look at the goalie with one eye and the beer guy in the 2nd bowl with the other.
