There was a kicking motion. Puck was going in, I don’t think Coleman saw the puck, but rules are rules.
Also one thing I learned from the 80’s is you don’t blow the team up because you lost to the oilers (who won’t go pst the next round). Stay the course. We should have done that before we traded away/ran out of town MacInnis Roberts and Vernon etc etc in the 90’s.
That was the biggest mistake this franchise has ever had IMO.

I'll be super annoyed if the Flames just let it go...we had an entire summer hearing about how McDavid didn't get a call in the first round
How are we supposed to support a fixed league?

They know deep down that I'm suffering and empathize. They are just good people regardless of a hockey game.

I'm telling myself this, I'm talking myself off the ledge. Team needs to learn how to win, team needs to learn how not to lose. They have learned how to play well in regular season, and they went to OT of game 7 first round and won. They advanced to second round and lost. So, take it as a learning lesson. Next season, they'll know what they need to bring to win in the playoff. May be don't go all out in the regular season, save some gas for the post season.
Sorry, I'm just talking myself off the ledge.

I've seen a couple of comments about our top line not showing up. I don't think you can put a lot of blame on Johnny or Elias. Tkachuk struggled mightily to make a difference. He was off most of the series and I feel like he dragged that line down.
He brought his pest game big time in the first 3 games against Dallas but that turned out to be a distraction. Did he hurt his hand? Maybe? He toned it down and wasn't as good or involved after game 3. He did score in game 7 and had a hat trick in game 1, when Edmonton's defense and goaltending was the worst of the series between either team.
The rest of the series he really wasn't good. I felt a lot of opportunies were wasted because he made bad decisions on where to go or where to put the puck. He was just off.
I'd love to give him another chance to see what he has learned from this experience but with his contract situation I think you have to trade him this summer.

Sure, but that had a lot to do with the fan base wanting to move on. Same as Gilmour. I recall newspaper articles on Vernon’s parent being appalled at the things being said about him while he was a Flame during a game.
My point being, yeah it’s Edmonton. But don’t get emotional. Who cares. Stay the course.

They won't get blown up like that.
But unlike 90s there is a salary cap now.
And this off season:
JG goes or stays long term.
MT basically goes or stays long term.
Zadorov and Gud get more money and term somewhere else. Gud may stay, Zadorov goes, so you have to fill that mean tough sonnofab who lead the team in ice time in a few games of a R2 playoff series.
Mangipane decide whether pay him as if he will be a 30 goal.scorer for next 3 to 5 years.
Sutter is here for 2 seasons probably max. I fear less.
I'm sure the team isn't 100% the way he wanted it. Far better then many people here though they would be when brought in Gud and Z and Lewis, but with salary cap and team he inherited, didn't get a chance to get all the boxes filled.
Another offseason Sutter will better this team with players on to how he wants to play, but, with MT and JG huge peices, those would be massive shoes to fill.

Disappointing end no doubt, but making it to the final four is damn hard and we got a lot of fun hockey.
I'm worried about the future because this would be a fine growth year if the Flames weren't facing a contract crunch. It'll be very interesting to see if they can bring everyone back.
The Kylington criticism is bizarre to me. I thought he played really well overall in his first full season and playoffs. I have no doubt they will bring him back.
Hanifin and Andersson took huge strides this season but they lost the battle against superstars in this series. Hopefully they return to the playoffs next year and benefit from this experience.

Second round is respectable- if we had lost to LA that’d be one thing . It’s losing to the f’ing oilers that makes me sick. We’ll never hear the end of it from the clowns up north.

Wait, I must be too old and my memory just went the crapper. When did we ran MacInnis and Roberts out of town? MacInnis didn't want to sign with the Flames, the Flames either lose him for nothing or trade him to the Blues. Roberts wanted to play in the east because it's less travel since he injured his neck. Am I too old or you're too young?

Honest question: Where?
Pushed in? Yes.
Directed in? Yes
Those are allowed. I still have not seen a distinct kicking motion. I would love to be proven wrong. Does anyone have an image/video of a distinct kicking motion?
Because if 'pushed in' is now not allowed then the league has a lot of explaining to do. Along with amending the current rule, as soon as tomorrow.

Flames lose in OT: Season Over
Who is the softest Flame?
Hanifin? Anderson? Monahan? Chucky? Markstrom? Toffoli? Johnny? Kylington?
A big chunk of this team in its most important positions is just not playoff caliber. Bunch of showboating hot shots that just wither away when it really matters.
Remember how we all made fun of the Hyman deal? Not so funny now is it.

That non goal call was joke!
And Nhl killed playoff hockey this year. All high intense hard hitting playoff is gone. They tried to give skilled players to shy in playoff, but for me all the series were just meh. No difference than regular season game. Boring hockey.

season ticket holders need to tell the Flames not to let this go, we can't support a rigged league
Zero chance that is called back if the Oilers, Rangers, Kings, Lightning, Vegas ect. score it

Problem is we have some hard hitting players but they couldn't use their strenth these year. Everytime they touch someone they got penalty. That's why Lucic, Lewis, Ritchie, Zadarov and Gud were less effective for these series. So our plan is failed because of new NHL playoff rule.
