My son wants a Flames shirt or jersey. I said sure but was quick to ask "and what happens if the Flames play the Jets?"
He said "go Jets!"
The things we do for our kids.
I have come to terms that my kid (6) may grow up into a Canucks fan. When you grow up here, it's probably hard to escape the gravity. I have taken her to some Giants games and she is definitely into it.
Right now though, she is all Flames. As a joke, she asked me what was wrong with the Oilers, and I told her they hate children and she still calls them the "team that hates children".

Dube has been playing well, liked his hustle against the Stars too. Playing big boy hockey, I hope he gets rewarded tonight.
I agree, hustle is good, but he was -3 last game. I would love to see him start using that speed in the way JG has developed to strip
Pucks and creat space vs just carve hard to the net or corner.
My wife invited her whole extended family over for dinner tonight ... and I just got a call from someone offering me a pair of Club seats for the game. Looking for clever, ingenious ways of wiggling my way out of the dinner without getting into a marital problem.

Watch any sitcom ever made and you will find examples of how to be in two places at once. Expect hilarity to ensue. The key will be to remember to take your Flames jersey off when you get to the dinner party.
TV trope:
A character schedules dates with two different people at the same time. Rather than cancelling one of the dates, the character tries to attend both simultaneously, constantly running back and forth between the two locations while making up various reasons to excuse themselves to avoid letting either party know where they are going.
Can also apply to other scheduling conflicts, where the character tries to juggle an event that he's required to attend, versus a more personal event that he really#wants#to attend.
If one of these scenes has a#dress code#of some form, expect a character to be caught wearing the outfit for one event at the other.
Sometimes, the character ends up spurning the big personal event altogether, to deal with the other commitment:

Keep fighting the good fight!
My first is due in 2 weeks and I have planned all the ways I'm going to indoctrinate him early.

I can’t believe this is even a consideration. If they know you and care about you they’ll understand haha
Alternatively this is one of those beg for forgiveness as opposed to ask for permission situations

Usually it's family over friends and games, but with it being a special game with you having such great seats, I would hope your wife wouldn't mind you going to the game. These opportunities don't come as often as we would like. My wife wouldn't give it a second thought about me going. I hope your wife thinks similarly. Good luck!
If not, a wife might be easier to replace than last chance to see the BoA in the playoffs for another 32 years!
Yeah, I don't think most partners would want to be the one to stand in the way of a rare opportunity. Maybe just get her a gift after to show your appreciation.

Coiler fans and "intelligentsia" whining about Nurse being hurt. What a load of crap, the guy is a terrible player regardless. I'm pretty sure the Flames could use Monahan to boot.
