Flames are an amazing story this season but one of about 6 teams having special seasons

Agree, that 89 teams was the best in franchise history. They had Nieuwendyk, Gilmour and Otto down the middle, talk about center depth. Then they had Loob, Roberts, Mullen and Theo on the wings. If that team had a coach like Darryl, they could've won more than one cup.

Watched four playoff prediction videos on YouTube.
All four have Calgary in the finals..
This feels strange.

Well they did almost get eliminated by a 74 point team if not for an OT post and some miraculous saves

I think it's in part because we dished an ass whooping to just about every team in the east at least once, and in the case of the Rangers, twice. With a lot of shutouts in there too.

sure. I'm painfully aware of that, which is partially why as a Flames fan I'll never be confident. Anyways I stand by my point, the 88-89 Flames is the best team we've seen here-
(as an aside although the Canucks weren't awesome or anything- and should not have taken us to 7- they also weren't that bad a team- some numbers so suggest they were likely the 4th best team in the conference- but the only 3 that were any good were all in their division and there was an unbalanced schedule at that point- they had a better goal differential than any team in the other division (and this year's Stars for that matter)

Fleury was often 4C that year

Yep. There are guys on this roster just for the playoffs. And the tone for the series will be set early.
Lucic, Zadorov, Lewis, Coleman, Gudbranson, Tkachuk
vs.
Hakanpaa, Glendening, Benn, Raffl, Faksa, Lindell

i cheered for dallas because i don't want injuries, nashville would have been a grueling 7 games and our guys would be beat up. Dallas "should" be less of a punishing series.
I'm purely concerned with winning and the teams health and not going strictly for entertainment, so one could argue that Actually people who voted for nash are more worried about entertainment than the team!

I agree. I've been entertained all season. I will take 4 grinding wins in a heartbeat.

I don't think the Preds could successfully push around the Flames. It might work against some teams, but over an entire series, if that was their game plan, I don't think it would be successful. Boroweicki and Jeannot are probably their biggest threats and both got their asses handed to them in the last game against the Flames.
Dallas isn't overly physical throughout their line-up, but Benn is a real d-bag and I wouldn't be surprised if he takes out one of our best players on a cheap shot.

He'll think twice about it. This year's Flames are quick to stand up for each other. Not just Lucic to do the intimidating.

I finally realized why Lucic was playing game after game during that terrible 20 game stretch.
He is our "enforcer" so it really didn't matter how he played on the 4th line. Like anyone would dare to touch Chucky or Johnny.

Now 6 prediction videos, all 6 the Flames make the finals.
One guy almost picked Colorado in the Western finals but then switched to Calgary.
