I don't know about Benn, Seguin, and Radulov magically turning it on in the playoffs. They looked cooked a lot the regular season games I saw with them. It didn't look they were checked out, it looked they were just regressing.
Nashville series also would have been way rougher I think. Still would have preferred them cause of the goalie situation though.
Nashville would have been rougher, but I worry that this one will be dirtier.
Also, Nashville brings out the best in the Flames. Dallas brings out... we'll see. Hopefully they can dictate the play this year.

Sutter has been preparing this group for this moment all year. While the results of the regular season have been incredible, now is when I think our coach will show why he is one of the best

I didn’t vote because I didn’t want to jinx it. As long as the Flames win I don’t care if it’s in 4 games or in 7. Let’s start with winning one game and go from there.
I’m cautiously optimistic about playing Dallas. They are 31-30 in regulation this season, and seem like a good matchup.

Whatever happens I think one of the most important things for Calgary is that they need to affirm their confidence in game 1. If they do that it’ll be beast mode.
Game 1 and the crowd coming out extremely loud and supportive will be absolutely critical. Fans likely don’t realize how key they will be for the Flames especially in game 1/2. Need to be loud. If you’re going to the game expect to lose your voice and get off your hands.

To me, this is the single biggest factor. You never know who will step up, or who will get the bounces, or which goalie will stand on their head. But one thing we DO know: Sutter has been preparing these guys since October, and they will be ready for playoff hockey.
That is the thing that gives me the most confidence.
And his answer to why did he come back, a couple days ago..."I'm a Flames fan".
The guy is a legend and we are lucky to have him.
For all the nervous nellie's, of course anything can happen...but the difference over most years is that the chances of the Flames beating themselves, certainly in Round 1, are infinitely lower than under any other coach they have had. They also won't get outcoached (Ward)...so if they lose it will because Dallas will outplay them on a talent and skill and work ethic, which I just don't see happening.
Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere... Will I be able to watch the games on the CBC app? I have the app on Roku and live in Alberta. If this works great, otherwise I need to find another way to watch the games on a Roku device.
If the game is on CBC then yes it will work. I watched games on my Roku tv via CBC app previously. Just select Calgary. If it's on sportsnet I had to use a Chromecast to watch.

Same. Millen used to drive me nuts. Either other announcers are worse or he’s become better. Or both.
I think we have had to put up with less experienced people thrust into roles that they aren't qualified for.
Millen is old school, he really hasn't changed, but he's far from a crusty old dinosaur too, and is insightful and picks up nuances in the game,...mainly because he doesn't have his head buried in game notes that he forces in, to sound more authoritative and cover for inexperience.
Him and Ball have a great chemistry too, though I think Ball gets along with anyone.
I found it amusing at the end of the game he told Ball to wait for his comment, as Millen didn't want to jinx a Flames player getting hurt in the last 10 seconds.
Will NHL live have the Flames playoff games or will they be blacked out? I’m asking because I will be in Texas for games 1 and 2. I have ESPN+ on my Apple box, but it looks like the series will be blacked out because of Espn2, TNT, TBS broadcasts.
As far as I can tell, these are my options:
1. Use a VPN and watch the flames feed with PVR ability on NHL live (if not blacked out).
2. Watch the Dallas feed on cable without PVR ability on my cable. Hopefully I can get a PVR in time. (Company set up the cable).
3. Watch the Calgary feed on my Telus app in low quality and without PVR ability.
Any advice would be appreciated.
On the bright side, I might be able to make it to Dallas for games 3 and 4.
