Yet according to Guy, father really does know best — he knew all along Johnny would succeed under Darryl’s watch.

“When Darryl Sutter was first hired, people said, ‘Oh, John will never make it,’” Guy said with a grin. “I said to my wife, ‘You wait. He’ll play his best hockey.’ Because I know what kind of person he is. She said to me, ‘Are you sure?’ I said, ‘Believe me, I know my son.’”

“(Johnny) loves (Sutter),” Guy said. “He says, ‘You don’t want to go in there and complain because he won’t listen to you.’ You play. Or you don’t play. And he’s not scared to tell you that you sucked.”
Between this article, how his family feels about visiting Calgary again, the comments from Guy Gaudreau about Sutter, how Johnny feels about Sutter and his teammates, and the season they are having, I’m very confident that not only will Johnny re-sign so he can continue playing here and under Sutter, but that he’ll do what it takes so that Tkachuk stays in Calgary as well. Both he and his dad know this is a great situation for him here and I can’t see him looking elsewhere just for a little more AAV or to play closer to “home”.

I think of Crosby taking his 8.7 and hope we have some good guys here who get it

Found a way to win, excellent. Jonny is unreal. Was a bit worried after the first two periods, but team got a spark in the 3rd and the difference in coaching and talent prevailed.
Will need all lines rolling for the playoffs- guys like backs, Coleman, toffoli. Jonny has been superstar status, driving the team. Haven’t seen many teams play him physical/hard- this will change in the playoffs .
Good chance guys are all over him in the playoffs- it’s happened before. Will need the depth playoff performers we have acquired to step up.

That was an odd game. It seems to me that some here are not giving the Kraken enough credit. Watching live, they were incredible tonight in the first 2 periods. They were closing gaps and picking off passes unlike any team I have seen this year do to the Flames.

Not the best game by the home team, but that had to be one of the best efforts that Seattle put together through 40 because they were excellent.

Comebacks are always fun though and the boys deserve praise for winning the game even though it wasn't their usual style of victory. Honestly, even Markstrom was pretty good given the chances against.

Congratulations to Johnny. He's one of the best stars we have had and it's a pleasure to watch the best season of his career so far. Especially when it is one of the best regular seasons the franchise has had.

Still not too impressed with Jarnkrok and it almost looks like Lucic needs a break to reset. He's fallen behind the pace.

that is pretty stunning- those guys were monsters on a monster team in a monster era
this is why I get annoyed when people on here say he can't pass...I should just laugh and ignore

55 assists, 92 points, +49

with games remaining...

missed the game, just watched now...the "stolen" talk is overblown, not enough respect for the opponent they play their asses off

certainly not their best effort of the season but they outshot and out chanced them in the end...luckily the game is 3 periods and not 2

See, it's all a matter of perspective.

In parts of Indonesia he would be considered a giant.

Having a second Flame at 100 would be awesome.

If Tkachuk hits 99, he bests old dog Keith. That too will be awesome

Sadly, Pornstache Auston will be the third American born to hit the mark in 25 years as he's at 99. But Tkachuk can be the 4th, and beat papa in the process.

Should be the end of the "Brady is better" talk (although he is a great player too) not a 100 point guy though
