And just like that we're back in the win column and 5 points up on the Kings. Flames can win when it counts and needed.
And Johnny with a great game taking it to a new level. There's no way he's not re-signing here. Good post there by Loob to sum it all up.

After highlight viewing, surprised they didn't call that crosscheck to Tkachuk (when Johnny scored). Looked like it hurt Matt a bit.

Good to see the Flames win the 1 goal game.

Some of you need to calm the f down in game threads. I checked out of the thread and enjoyed the game much more.

Best season in living memory. Don't forget to enjoy it.

IMO these should be reviewable by the league and fines handed out weekly to show up the players that are doing this. Durzi was a total disgrace to the game last night.

It's not, really.

It seems obvious that both sides agreed a long time ago to wait until after the season to get something done. One would have to believe that the team would only agree to stay negotiations like this if they are confident they will get him back under contract.

I 100% agree with the sentiment here. And it's a great season.

I don't know about best season in living memory, ask me about that in June.

It takes two to tango. If the JG camp won't come to the table, what can the team do but respect that? Keep pushing despite a clear signal of intentions and risk alienating the player?

I'm optimistic a deal will be struck. But I don't think there's anything to see here other than what is. JG camp said it's not talking about it until after the season, and that's what will happen. A few days after the playoffs, JG will signal whether he's negotiating or testing the waters.

Wow- their weather looks pretty spectacular!

Seriously - it amazes me that you are able to translate that into a clip each time that we all have come to know and enjoy!

Keep it up if and when you can....and if you can't....we'll just have to run retreads.

Hope your fam is OK.

I thought they agreed not to discuss negotiations. Did they in fact cease negotiations?

In any case, the club has little choice whether or not to agree to this. You can't force someone to the table.

I think there was a game a few years ago where Johnny put the nail in the Kings coffin in April in their barn.

That fanbase must think Johnny is the best player ever. Haha.

Great game, huge for the team to take a 1-goal lead into the third and hang on. Earlier in the year they would've turned 3-2 into 6-2 and coasted to a win, so their ability to defend a lead was never tested. Good to finally pull one off.

Gaudreau is just spectacular, hope he retires a Flame. On a points-per-game basis, this season is 4th all-time since the team moved to Calgary, and basically tied with 3rd (Gaudreau 22: 1.38, Mullen 89: 1.39).

On Seconday scoring, yeah they've been cold lately but the 2nd line in particular had some real jump and easily could've had a couple of goals. Mangiapane hit Backlund with a cross-crease pass that hopped over his stick with an empty net, Backlund sent Tkachuk in on a breakaway that he missed the net, and Toffoli had that weird bouncing puck that sat on Petersen's back. Some other night, we'd be talking about Backlund's 3-point night and how great our depth is.

That said, he also went toe-to-toe with Kopitar most of the night and out-possessed him 65-35, so in that circumstance I'm happy with 0-0.
