Hopefully this gets Dube going. He's been a massive disappointment this year IMO

Toffoli and Coleman are interchangeable depending on who clicks with who. They're both 200 foot players, one stronger on D and one on O. Coleman and Backlund are working well now, but have been a bit cold offensively until very recently. So I expect Toffoli will get a look on both lines. Lucic might see some time with him too.

Well, you don't really know if it will only slightly downgrade the top line, it could significantly degrade that line if they don't have chemistry. As others have said, the top line is the best line in the NHL, it would be insane to break that up right now.

I'd also argue that Tkachuk is no more likely to get Monahan going than Toffoli is, so really no reason to mess with the top line at all.

I think he will help both Dube and Sean. Give Sean a real offensive guy and I think it will really help get him moving and if the line is feeling good it should help Dube get over what looks like a sophomore slump.

I wonder if Oiler fans get steamed when they see Lucic all over the Flames social media grinning like a cat?

Bounce back season.
Loooooch chants clearly audible in the Saddledome.
Neal bought ou.

As many of you have pointed out the top two lines have been rolling lately.

I actually think there's a good chance that he starts on the 3rd line, not the Monahan line. I think we could see Lucic - Ruzicka - Toffoli, to start.

That said, Toffoli gives this team so many options and he can play anywhere. If he slots on the first line, we can slot Tkachuk with Backlund, where they have proven chemistry. If he plays on the 2nd line then one of Mangiapane/Coleman makes the 3rd line that much more dangerous. If he plays lower down the lineup then Toffoli is the one to provide a line more scoring and defense. It's a win win no matter how you slice it. I'm glad we have the right coach in place to figure it out and create a role for Toffoli.

Finally, I think that both Pitlick and Ritchie(because he seems like the odd man out of the line-up) were/are good soldiers for us. The business aspect sucks for them probably, so I hope Pitlick tears it up in MTL, and Ritchie stays a good teammate and contributes when he gets a chance.

Oiler fans are delusional. I guarantee the majority of them still think they won that trade.

Where? This just hasn’t been the case with Monny for awhile now.

No, it has been. Why are you just seeing what you want to see?

E.g. Here is a game from this season, november:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPbQz3Iqw3U

He got two assists, both off of shots actually. But he sets up a bunch of other plays (and has some notable defensive plays too.)
Perhaps not strangely, this is when Mangi-Monahan-Coleman was a line. Better linemates, better effort it seems.

Dube been massively snakebit this year and Pitlick/Ritchie never had any finish in the first place

Put the two of them on a 2 on 0 and its probably a 50/50 chance it doesn't even make it on ####ing net lol

Yeah, I'm wondering who that might be? How much cap do the Flames have? I imagine they'll have to make the deal closer to the deadline to allow for more cap space to accrue. Maybe a guy like Motte is a target to continue with the Canuck theme?

Pic of Toffoli but it was a left-shot player, so incorrect and now deleted, I think.

Was supposedly Toffoli’s first spin on Saddledome ice as a member of the Flames.

A tweet that misidentified a flames player on the ice as Toffoli.

If the Flames manage to win the cup, the salt from both Oilers and Canucks fans will be immense. The Flames basically built their team on guys that the Canucks passed on: Markstrom, Tanev, Toffoli, and Tkachuk. No doubt in any long playoff drive, Lucic will play a key role with his physical presence.
