I didn't find the workload all that difficult, but I was lousy at time management and was a huge procrastinator. I think that is the problem with a lot of people from my generation.

Wow, way to come off as a dickhead.
People in university are not smart enough to get their assignmetns done? Give me a break. People don't need to justify their lives to you. And If you see my post above, I believe university is a lot about building character, but I guess you missed that lesson...

And I'm stupid because I procrastinated, needed extensions, fake doctors notes and the whole bit. But I actually had fun while I was there, so that beats impressive time management skills if you ask me.

So I guess you are one of the "slow" people that worked really hard all the time and squeaked by with a 2.0. Well congradulations Frank Grimes, the rest of us who didn't spend 20 hrs a day on homework really respect you.

I procrastinated and screwed up a couple years before I got my act together. Although I feel I learned a lot about myself in those 2 (misspent) years. A lot of social skills tha maybe many of the more academically inclined missed out on.

Did you read my first post in this thread? Or did you not learn reading comprehension?
You must so so proud of yourself, better than everyone else here. That's right, you keep that nose held high.

I have to agree with Burns2002. I went to University and worked nearly full time as well, and still had time to have a bit of a life. They key is to save all your old assignemnts, then just alter them slightly, and hand them in in a different class, then pretend that you didn't understand th eassignemnt. Usually this is good for a B-

I juse never understood why people needed to spend this amount of time on school work. I only met 1 or two people in 4 years at university that needed this kind of effort to get decent grades. Most students partied a lot, watched a ton of tv, and would sleep all day and end up with decent grades. I don't understand (unless you are taking 7 courses a semester) how you need to dedicate all this time to school.

So, the key is academic dishonesty?

Sounds a lot like me! Except I used to just take my zero, rather than make that effort to get a doctor's notepad!

That's not fair.
Really, how many ways are there to weave a basket?

Hah, wow... nice way to get your message out.
I guess it probably depends on what you're majoring in. For example I'm in engineering, and I think we can all agree that it is difficult material, and the workload is at the extreme.
I have to work pretty hard, but it's due to procrastination and poor time management. Even if I could manage time, I could see myself working just as hard. There are some courses that are just a lot harder than others. (ie. Vector Calculus > Microeconomics)
Having 6 course semesters, entirely made of difficult math and science courses is not easy, believe me.
Unfortunately with math or programming assignments that tend to be submitted online, there is no way to alter past assignments...
You really come off ignorant man.

What was your major? That makes a big difference difference.
For example, I have a science degree. I'm not bragging, but I know it was more work than some majors. There was one person I met who was getting a degree in some buiness related program, and one of their 4th year classes was learning how to use email! I can assure you that it was a lot easier than advanced geographical spatial modelling or 4th year biochem.

Ha
Actually what your doing is generally regarded as academic dishonesty as well I believe. For example, a lot of universities, state doing that as plaigarization (such as the one I am at at the momment).
Evidently I still need to be in university - plaigarizing, not plaigarization.

Self Plagiarism, the practice of submitting ones work for academic credit more than once, is still considered academic dishonesty.

Focus was in interpreting and applying labour law and collective agreements. I know that engineering is a hard program, but even people I knew in engineering didn't spend most of their time doing homework and they all graduated and got jobs in their field

You said yourself that you lied and said you misunderstood the assignment. Isn't that academic dishonesty?
