Last year there were a lot of posters who were so angry with Winnipeg for doing Vegas a favor in trading for Statsny. Yet Winnipeg made the playoffs and won a round with Statsny being a key contributor.

30 other NHL teams are not going to ignore the chance to add a top 9 and likely top 6 forward due to petty jealousy.

No, but 15 of those other teams are already over the cap and can't take on another big contract until the off-season.

Most of the teams that have plenty of cap room are rebuilding (or, in Seattle's case, building for the first time) and adding a veteran forward isn't going to put them over the top of anything.

Difficult year to be a seller, especially when you put yourself in a situation where you're forced to sell.

Especially not particularly offensively skilled ones.

Drive me nuts hearing the type of scrub d-men or depth forwards he's looking at every spring it seems.

My impression was we went and loaded up on defencemen last summer so that we didn't need to do this song and dance again.

This time of year the guy needs to be supervised by someone with their head screwed on straight.

Bottom line is he needs to put his efforts toward the type of player that actually moves the needle on this team and fills a need.
