There was that one kid who cried when Rittich was traded and it went viral. The Preds should arrange for him to meet Ritter. Positive PR for the Preds and the kid gets to meet Rittich. Win/win.

Monahan with another two point night, and Mang scores again.

Would be an interesting development if Monahan were to put up say 20 goals + 20 assists playing on the fourth line while also playing on the 1st unit of the powerplay. He’s looking like he’s getting better and better each game so he may just move up the line up. But what if he is kept where he is and he gets to face easier opponents every night and still produces. Obviously he won’t produce as much as if he were on the top line but it could be a great way to spread the skill like Sutter has suggested.

Rittich was in Covid protocol for a couple weeks. He just returned to practice a few days ago. He is still listed as day to day

But, is Monahan really playing on the fourth line? As I see it, there is a first line on this team, but then in the bottom nine there is what Sutter called an "identity line," and two other middle-six lines. The ice-time distribution sure does not reflect the existence of a fourth line.

Yeah exactly ... and if you are forced to it's pretty clear there's a first line, a second line (shut down), and then two equivalent third lines with Ritchie getting subbed out once in a while.

No sense labelling the lines the way Sutter uses them

I'm actually surprised by his ice time - not because I think he's relegated to 4th line and has been limited in minutes - more because he seems very responsible about shift length. He always seems to be changing off first on his line (and he often gets on last because Dube takes long shifts).

I expect he will be in the press box until Zadorov has a poor outing.

are Zary and Kinnvall close to being healthy for Stockton? Don't think I've heard a peep on them since they were injured

I actually don't mind Monahan being on a lesser talented line. He needs to remember how to work/generate and not just be a passenger on a line. When he gets back to it, earns a promotion he will be better off for it and so will we.

Why? We haven't trailed since game #1.
Things seem to be working.

Yes, and this is Sutter's way of rebuilding him .... slowly. One part at a time.
You could almost call it a redevelopment.
Glad we have Darryl.
