Well, all that plus watching a division rival like Anaheim or Vancouver get Shane Wright would do it.

I’m going to call the Zadorov/Tanev pairing dumb every day. So so so dumb
It was dumb to even try it in a practice. How dumb is our org that they are still going with it after these results? Eye test and analytically
This is Gulutzan-Esque

I think the only way to get Monahan back is to play him with Johnny, if he can still do it
There isn’t really a fit for him anywhere else.

Better than his brother how? His bro who has three years with a rebuilding team under his belt? That kid hits like a truck and is pretty explosive. That guy is going to be a premier pwf for years barring injury.
Give me the pwf who scores and hits over a slow agitator with some offensive abilities.

At this point I wish we just ran with that group, with Mackey and Valimaki switching off.
Gudbranson has been acceptable, but the acquisitions are not the ones I would've gone after with that cap to spend. They wouldn't even be close to the top of my list.
Brad was better off standing pat than fetching the guys he did.

I have 4, 6, 7 and 9 year olds. Bless their hearts they all love the flames. I really wish they were good right now for them.

Go look at his charts...he did have good numbers defensively
There are far worse centers in the league than Monahan...he is also playing his second game after a hip surgery. Suggesting he is not an NHL center is...ridiculous.

On that last powerplay did the Tkachuk tip on the Gaudreau shot hit Gibson in the upper shoulder, then go off the knob of his stick? Or was I seeing things.

Will you let it go already? Holy. No one is with you in regards to his brother or his lack of ability at this level. At least not tonight.
Such strange comments after a great performance by him.
There are a number of other guys you should be going after before MT.

One of those nights on CP
ask Kassian how Tkachuk hits
Teams would be lining up to acquire M. Tkachuk

Still love the way they played the first 2 games. Completely controlled play.
They just need better finishing (4.4% is hilariously low) and for Markstrom to make some saves that a $6M goalie is supposed to make.
|
Yeah no one wants to hear it but give me games where we outshoot the opponent by nearly 2 to 1 and we’ll win most of them.

Does kassian look all that scared when they play us? Kassian keeps blowing kisses and stepping up to who ever we throw at him for the intimidation factor. Matt can hit but he’s not fast enough to catch people most of the time. I’d trade him for eichel if they could.
He fetches a good haul I suspect. But you want to pay him 9 plus? Not me. Thankfully my job isn’t on the line with those type of decisions. The flames management and execs have done this to themselves. Sutter doesn’t have the horses like he did in LA nor his first go round with us. He’s got his work cut out for him.

Tkachuk was great tonight he made some highly skilled plays
How can you watch that game and think HE is the problem? Or any of the top guys really
Zadorov can’t make a two foot pass and he’s tanking the performance of our best defenseman. Let’s start there

Last game I didn't think Smith stole anything...the shot quality wasn't very good
Gibson definitely stole this one

I'm no Monahan hater but I think he was directly to blame for the last two Ducks' goals.
On the goal in the 3rd period, he was the second forward in (with Dube?) and it was clear the Flames weren't going to get possession and that they were needing a line change. Monahan should have gone off when the dump in was made instead of doing it when the Ducks reversed the puck back up the ice, leaving Monahan's replacement no chance to get in on the play.
In OT, he gave the puck to Hanifin when Hanifin had no where to go with it and Johnny about to com clear at the blue line. Once Hanifin lost the puck, Monahan lets the Duck player put it through his feet and doesn't take the player leaving Johnny defending (admirably) on a 2 on 1.
As another poster pointed out, he doesn't seem to have confidence right now.

Yup.
It’s two games into the season and they’ve looked great at 5v5. I’ll take the process over results right now, and if they keep this up the wins will come.

Weitz was wrong in his assessment I think. They were definitely more dangerous than Saturday.
Just a great performance by Gibson tbh. I can't hate. But it does suck.

I want a win. Doesn't matter we outplay or outplayed. This teams needs to learn to win. They still don't play like confident team.
