So where do you put him in the lineup?
You criticize the Flames with every single post you make. How about you post something to add to the conversation for a change - where does he fit in the Flames lineup?

Sorry Yam, enjoy the popcorn...he is not playing on a checking line
James Neal was the leagues goal scoring leader until December less than two years ago playing with McDavid a bit...I think some people underestimate the boost he gives anyone who plays with him.

Just from my views of him I think he's got a decent 200 ft game and I think he was propping up Draisaitls +/- and maybe even Mvdavids def last season and the other two dragging him down there. Flames already have 'Shrimps' but I find it hard to believe he wouldnt be in our lineup.
in fact, Ev Def, Also note basically no PP time:
Can we put this to bed though, I think E=NG as much as the rest of them. just trying to be objective.

I know the question wasn't addressed to me, but I would put Yamamoto on one of these lines depending on chemistry and Matchup:
Dube - Monahan - Coleman/Yamamoto
Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman/Yamamoto
I guess you could argue that Pitlick is a better option as a shut down option on Backs' line. Then he is probably out of the lineup especially with the way Sutter wants to play. That said, it is very hard to gauge, but I think both these combination could work well.

Question was open to everyone...just an opinion and why I called him a tweener.
I honestly don't think he would make the Flames opening night if everyone is healthy. He is pretty fortunate to play for the Oilers and will probably get a big contract because of it. Oilers have no cap space moving forward they really can't pay any more.

Flames don't have shrimps in the bottom six which is my point, Sutter wants the bottom six to punish teams IMO. Your "objective" takes always seem to be everything Flames is worse.

Well he sure as hell isn't taking Coleman's spot (lol)
Depending on what you wanted to accomplish from the lines, you could put him with Backlund, and move Pitlick to the 4th line, bumping someone like Ritchie out.
However, that makes the 3rd line way too small and soft, IMO: Dube - Backlund - Yamamoto is not going to match well against many lines

You said he was better than Dube...and have yet to say where he would play on the Flames opening night.
Have whatever opinion you like...seems to me based on post history 99% of the time you are against the Flames though

No, you said he was a tweener, I was basically trying to say he is about what Dube is right now. If you got the impression I don't like Dube than thats on you. Both good young players.

This guy, he wouldn't make the Flames opening day....if you think he would tell me where
You brought up Dube not anyone else, and posted stats to suggest Yam was better when they are in very different roles.
Same stats would suggest Barrie is the best offensive dman in the league. Or maybe it's McDavid/Drai boosting everyone
James Neal and Ty Rattie looked pretty good for a bit, as did Kassian

You seem pretty bent out of shape, I posted stats and then acknowledge they were in different roles on my own in the very same post.
Hes in over Ritchie for sure, if this wasnt Sutter's team probably Pitlick and Lewis too.
And now please dont go off on a tangent about How now I dont like Pitlick, Lewis or Ritchie and am anti-Flames. Because thats not the case.

Okay so you play him on the fourth line...I wouldn't, he is maybe 158 pounds
Agree to disagree I guess

This isnt the NHL of 30 years ago, and he hold his own defensively
And agree to disagree is fine, But 99% of thime im against the flames.... c'mn man. I predicted 12th to 20th this season. This team should make the playoffs under Sutter. Lots were making this a bottom feeder team. Learn to pick your battles.

Cup champs 4th line
Pat Maroon — Ross Colton — Mathieu Joseph
Runner ups fourth line
Joel Armia — Eric Staal — Corey Perry
You are the one who keeps coming back for the last word
You think Yam is good and I think he is a tweener propped up by his line mates who wouldn't make the Flames opening night roster. that's it, we disagree

This is my last post here but I dont mind having a discussion about the merrits of if hes a tweener or not, thats how it started, that is every day discussion on this forum. Somehow that got turned into calling me out on a bunch of other crap. So Dont just say thats it and was all it was about and we agree to disagree.
And for the record Dube will be the better player at some point, It was just a comparible for where they are at right now, at this moment.

Sabres captain Jack Eichel will travel to Buffalo for his pre-training camp physical this week amid questions of whether he'll be cleared to play, and his future with the team in limbo, a person with direct knowledge of the player's plans told The Associated Press on Saturday.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because discussions between Eichel and the Sabres have been private. The Sabres are conducting their player physicals on Wednesday, a day before opening training camp.

John Vogl covered this in an article in The Athletic:
https://theathletic.com/2818855/2021...n-replace-him/
Quote:
First, let’s start with the assumption Eichel will not get traded in the next two weeks and reports to training camp. The opening day features physicals. Eichel will fail the physical because of the herniated disk in his neck.
Article 16.11 of the collective bargaining agreement states: “A player who finishes an NHL Season on the Injured Reserve List and continues to be disabled and unable to perform his duties as a hockey Player by reason of the same injury at the time he reports to the Club’s Training Camp in the next League Year will again be eligible to be placed on the Club’s Injured Reserve List.”
So, in theory, the Sabres could place Eichel back on IR and let him return home to Boston until a trade is finalized. Given the contentiousness between the parties, that’s the cleanest option.
