Statues are corny and usually ugly. I say no statues of actual people. Like stuff like the goalie mask on the dome though.

There’s a bunch of cool sports art in and around Dodger Stadium in LA. Giant replicas of World Series rings and Gold Gloves, old ticket stubs and programs from memorable events, game used memorabilia, etc. Loved walking around and exploring around the stadium.

I couldn’t care less about player statues. But ownership statues are gaudy. Like patting yourself on the back. The Ted Rogers statue at skydome is the worst

I'm not a huge fan of statues. Tend to look creepy more often than not.

So Harvey the Hound is the statue I'd support.

I think a statue of Lanny with the cup would be cool. I don’t think there’s any other moment in Flames history iconic enough to warrant a statue.

Celebrating a championship with a statue is fine with me.

This is the same organization that came up with Forever a Flame

Do we really want to trust them with rolling out a statue?

The Howe statue inside the arena is cool.

I was at that game.

We missed him jumping the boards and thought it was a manikin. We were discussing the best way to sneak a manikin in and buddy in front filled us in.

Good memory thanks

Does this statue have to be flames related? With the amount of public funding involved in this new arena, I would like see something representative of the public benefits of sport.

And if it had to be a hockey player, then the only person I can think of is Haley Wickenheiser.

She grew up in Calgary. One of Canada's greatest athletes, a champion for women's hockey, broke barriers for women playing in men's leagues....

Damn shame she works with the Leafs tho..

Lanny with the cup is the only statue worthy moment in flames history for me

Paying homage to both a memorable Flames fan moment, and mimicking the bas-relief facade of the original home of the Flames, the Corral.

I have two possible themes for the statue:

1) The Finns we know
2) "Pat" from behind the Flames bench - the ultimate fan tribute
