If that's the expectation up north then people are going to be a little disappointed.
20/50 is what you're probably looking at for Hyman.
45 points from Coleman here will probably bring much more value with his other assets.

Just like Neal, they are going to stick him with mcdavid and wet themselves the first few weeks
Before he falls back to what he is. A below average 2nd liner or 3rd liner
I wonder if Bingo is going to attack me for this assessment also lol

Well, Hyman sure as hell is a lot better than "A below average 2nd liner or 3rd liner."
So, probably.

Well it might have been smarter not to return to the same well within 15 minutes of having a bunch of water come out your nose and then vomiting, but here we are.
Hyman last year was 2.14 Pts60 which is 64th in the league, making him firmly a first line player.

His fall back to earth won't be as significant as Neal's because he's a decent nhler, but he won't live up to their unhinged expectations as usual.
He's put up 2nd line forward numbers playing with top tier forwards. That is his top end.

Playing with some of the most dynamic offensive talent in the league. Not sure he can repeat without being stapled to McDavid. That is going to be the point of success there. Staying on McDavid's wing every game. Otherwise, his numbers are going to plummet.

Sorry, but Hyman in a vacuum is not a top line forward.
He can run with the big boys and not be an anchor, but I'm not sure that qualifies him as a too line forward on his own.

I tend to agree. He’s come out of nowhere over the years. Great supporting first liner with underrated two way ability. No team should pay him as your primary scoring source based on his skill. But he’s a smart player and I think in Edmonton he’ll do great for the first four years. These long term deals are GM killers.

But he's going from Tavares, Matthews and Marner to McDavid and Draisaitl.
That's not a bad shift!
Plus we see what Edmonton does with their deployment. He'll probably get every second of every powerplay as well.

I know you would probably tell me Dean Macammon was a true first liner for the Flames too 😀

I'm not suggesting he's an elite forward.
But he plays with a lot of talent and produces accordingly. The guy probably has his wheels come off with over use but to start he's a big add for Edmonton.

First of all who is that? McAmmond? Or did you mean former coach Bob McCammon?
These are just stats man.
It's easy to look up and refute silly internet pessimists, but beyond that I'm not proclaiming Hyman anything other than a guy that has produced like a first liner with elite linemates.

If I am a contender going for the cup, Coleman is definitely the guy I am going for
Maybe Treliving thinks we are a serious contender?

I'd say top line forward would imply he is a forward that can stir the drink, and probably puts up over 60 points. Don't think Hyman does this. Nice complimentary piece, however.
A big add, but to an area they were already fine in.
Their holes are arguably worse today.
Anyways, the Coleman add will also bring a lot to the team to start.

I like Coleman a lot and considering he's only played 5 pro seasons I feel like he should have lots of tread left, but 6 years is pretty gross at first glance and that last year feels like a buyout waiting to happen. Price you have to pay maybe.
My hope for a best case scenario is that if he plays RW well, he see a lot of ice with Calgary and his production takes a jump. he produced well in tampa considering he was on a line with Goodrow and Johnson and pretty buried.
Adding him, Zadorov, Pitlick, re-signing Ritchie... the flames are going to be a big strong team this year though that's for sure, don't see anybody pushing them around.

Oh ya, this team will wear opponents down.
