Throw in a 3rd round pick and it's a home run when you consider the Hawks had a limited amount of teams that fit the player's criteria of being closer to home.

So the oilers are short 2nd 3rd and 4th in 21 draft now 3rd and 4th in 22 draft.

When they resign smith they will have less than $10 mil space and Yamamoto and Larson not signed.

Can’t wait for the buy out next

Does anyone know if or when cap gets overages come out? Will the oilers get a penalty from last season. They did from the year before.

Put it this way, they had a good opportunity of making a good lineup with 21m in space, now cutting that cap space in half by signing RNH and acquiring Keith. Beyond stupidity. All hail Chia and Holland

So they replace Tyson Barrie with Duncan Keith, who is 8 years older, for about the same money, and they give up Caleb Jones and a 3rd to do it.

LOL

I think their plan just might be to try and write the season off for a chance at Wright.

A good friend of mine is as die-hard an Oiler fan as there could be, his dad, before his passing, was a season ticket holder for as long as I can remember, etc.

Today is his birthday.

I'm actually too excited to message him right now; I really need to put some thought into this!

With the Keith trade - don't the Oilers still have $10M to improve their team?

Why can't they sign Barrie?

I have no idea what you are on about.

Of course its a great move for Chicago. Of course it is. Its a fantastic piece of business.

I dont understand why Edmonton said 'yes' to this. They dont have the Cap space to burn and it fits absolutely none of their needs.

Why? Why would they do this?

He is old and expensive and unless he hits LTIR tomorrow....which still begs some questions of its own...

Oilers fans are upset. Stauffer had a few weeks notice to smooth this over with the fans and failed. Katz will not be impressed.

This most likely means they are probably buying out James Neal this year so they can afford Keith. But still I think there has to be better options available.

I don't mind Keith at the right acquisition cost. This wasn't that. Sigh...

Lmao this makes my day. Giving up a D prospect and a pick for Keith with no cap retained is idiotic. How will they hold on to Barrie now?
