DK wasn't the problem with the 'Hawks D last year, and has been saddled with some pretty bad, inexperienced, partners on D. Is he still a top flight D-Man at his age? No, but he is not a huge liability either. His mobility is still good, and he never was all that physical a presence on D. I wouldn't say that he is completely done, as his game was more cerebral anyway, and would be still serviceable as a lower pairing guy.
I could see Seattle as a landing spot, but, in truth, I don't see the 'Hawks as having a ready replacement for his minutes.

Lucic for Keith, who says no (other than probably Lucic)?
Keith more likely to retire in 1 year (1.5M last year vs. 4M due to ML)

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was greaserville. Already minister of propaganda stauffer and jimmy “I used to know hockey” Matheson are preparing the unwashed for the impending arrival. Plus, Mavi needs someone else to have the catchy leadership jingles going forward.
Can you imagine if we get an anniversary one for one trade?

Chicago easily.
Chicago doesn’t have to save cap. If they retain, it’s to get a better return. This isn’t a cap dump move.

So you legitimately think that there is a chance that the Canucks are going to bring the Sedins in and then trade for a guy that altered one's career for the worse with one of the dirtiest elbows in recent memory?

I hate to say it but I think that this is a perfect acquisition for Aquilini who seems to be cash poor right now. Essentially pay a little amount of money to get a player with a big cap hit... I can see the appeal behind it for a #### owner more concerned about the bottom line.

Wait, you're basing this on a hockey play that happened nearly 10 years ago? I highly doubt the Sedins are that petty. If they are going to spend their managerial careers avoiding signing or trading for every player that ever hit them then they're going to have to wait another 15 years for all of them to retire because they'll never be able to ice a team.
If anything, having the Sedins involved when you trade for him is essentially the seal of approval for the fanbase to bury the hatchet and move on.

“Hmmm, not sure I remember specifically, I do it a lot. Why?”
“You still got it? Would you do it again to one of those whiny Oilers?”

I’d be in for it if we could get him dirt cheap. I like Keith. Really the only appeal would be to get a Keith jersey. Hockey wise I don’t really think he’d do much for us. Kind of like a Jagr situation but significantly less cool.

I don't think Keith is good enough to play here.

I didn't realize our blue line were ####ing advanced stats rockstars.
I expected Tanev and Stone, but not the others.
Yeah I wouldn't even pick up a call from CHI.

Having a 3-time cup winner and 2-time Norris winner would probably be good for the culture of the team.
But I think the Flames need a PP defenseman. Keith had 15 points in 54 games. He isn't that. At least not anymore.
And I think Calgary would probably be the last team in the Northwest that Keith would want to play on.

Why though? He has nothing left to win and has destroyed his body during his long career of busting his ass. I don’t see how guys like this help a team get over the hump.
I know you’re saying you’re against this idea with Keith, but the sentiment is the same for a ton of players and fans.

If Seattle picks up Keith I doubt they take Gio.
They would make up the Geritol pairing.

"Multiple Stanley Cup winner" or some reference to Stanley Cups (in this case flashing back to Chelios 22 years ago as a big stretch) has to be part of any dissertation so Oiler fans know that Lowe will continue to bring a culture of winning to the Oilers.
